We are a membership based organization here to promote business, tourism, organizations and events to strengthen our local econ- omy. Practically speaking, have you been to a Red Bluff parade? That's the chamber. How about one of the Wednesday or Sat- urday farmers markets? That's the chamber. We pro- mote our 415 (and growing) members and our commu- nity through our website, Facebook, Friday eBlast, newsletter and Twitter. That's the chamber. Have you seen the big scissors at a ribbon cutting celebra- tion? That's the chamber. Have you been to our BEAM business expo? We promote events large and small from the 11 Days of Round-Up to the Kelly- Griggs Summer Ice Cream Social, the Crawdad Festi- val, monster trucks, Beef and Brew, Art Walk, the list goes on and on. More than 12,000 vehi- cles daily see our electronic messaging center in front of the office informing the public and tourists of great organizations and events. That's the chamber. Some of the blue vis- itor information signs from around the county and city lead visitors to us — we eat and breathe tourism on daily basis. We have maps, brochures and directions to promote great local establishments such as restaurants, shops, hotels and motels and various tourist stops in town and throughout the county. We supply re- location packets and as- sist families and groups with information for their visits to our area. Have you seen a Fri- day eBlast of current hap- penings and specials or been to our Good Morn- ing, Red Bluff networking event? You've guessed it, it's the chamber. We part- ner with the city, county, the Downtown Associa- tion, the fairgrounds, the Bull & Gelding Sale and so many more amazing groups to see further suc- cess in Red Bluff and Te- hama County. We receive thousands of visits on our website from locals and visitors find- ing answers, suggestions and ideas for business, en- tertainment and organi- zations throughout our area. Farmersmarket registration We are excited for this year's Red Bluff Chamber Saturday Farmers Market, scheduled to begin on Sat- urday, June 6, 7:30 a.m. to noon at River Park. Mar- ket on the River and runs through Sept. 26. The Red Bluff Chamber's Wednesday Farmers Market Downtown will take place on Washington Street in front of the Tehama County Courthouse and a portion of Pine Street between Jeffer- son and Main streets, 5-8 p.m., June 17 through Sept. 9. Patriots The Corning Patriots would like to invite all in- terested people to attend its regular meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Corn- ing Senior Center, 1015 4th St. Guest speaker will be Dr. Piyush K. Dhanuka, GI specialist from Redding. He is part-owner of DOCs Medical Group in Redding along with his oncology specialist wife, Promila Dhanuka. He has served as past Chief of Medical Staff and as a Board Member at Shasta Regional Medi- cal Center. Dhanuka grew up in India and moved to America almost 20 years ago. He and his wife have 3 children. Dhanuka will be speaking about "From Collective Tyranny to In- dividual Sovereignty; Les- sons from Past and a Road- map to the Future." Young Eagles The Corning EAA Chap- ter 1148 held its annual event last Saturday, May 16, and it was a great suc- cess. The Knights of Co- lumbus provided a great pancake breakfast before six planes flew 70 young eagles, boys and girls be- tween the age of 8 and 17. The pilots were: Bill Heins, Tim Huckabay, Danny Sal- ado, Duane McCune, Steve Powers and Bill Sommers. There were many helpers and volunteers and Bar- bara Boot says, "Thanks to everyone for helping. It was a great day." Soccer Fields ready to open The city of Corning will be unveiling a Len- nox Fields plaque at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at the new soccer park on Houghton Avenue at Fig Lane. These soccer fields are named after the Len- nox family who owned the property that the park is now on and family mem- bers will be present to un- veil the plaque. Everyone is invited. Farmers Market The Corning Farmers Market will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 4, and run until the end of Au- gust. If you have any ques- tions call the chamber at 834-5550. We hope many of you will come out and support your local grow- ers. Not only will you get fresh produce, but there will be food and craft ven- dors as well. Along with shopping you will en- joy some local entertain- ment and socializing with your neighbors. The mar- ket will once again be held at North Side Park on the West Street side.
