The family friendly event will start at 3pm on Monday, May 25th at the Pavilion in Town Park. The Recreation Department will bring out the water slides for the kids. VFW Post 769 will provide hamburgers and hot dogs for sale. Operation Hero Comfort will offer bottled water and sodas for sale, also. The Town purchased 100 kites which will be available for the kids. So go fl y a kite! Transit fare changes On Tuesday April 28, 2015 the Quartzsite Town Council estab- lished a fare structure for the Tran- sit System. The Council kept the current struc- ture the same going from suggest- ed donations to established fares. The change went into effect Monday May 18, 2015. Fares to ride locally are still only $3; a trip to Blythe is $10; while Yuma and Lake Havasu City is $15. For more information contact Quartzsite Town Hall at 928-927-4333 or stop by 465 N. Name that bus contest & Transit updates The Town of Quartzsite needs your help! Joing in the fun; Name the town Town Transit By Janet Collier, Transit Director We want the youngsters, oldsters and in-betweensters to get in- volved. The Health and Development Board held a contest to name the town transit from March 1st -16th. Seven entries were sub- mitted. The board narrowed the choices to three. The Quartzsite Town Council would like you to vote on which name you like the best. You can go to the Town's website at www.ci.quartzsite.az.us; click on the survey and vote on which name you like the best. The survey will be open to voters until June 5, 2015 at 4pm. You can also vote at Town Hall ask staff for assistance. New bus stop for Quartzsite Transit is located at the River La- goon Mini Mart in Ehrenberg. We will stop in the morning on our way to Blythe the fi rst and third Tuesday of every month residents can ride into Blythe, one way or round trip. They also have the op- tion to pick up Palo Verde Valley Transit once in Blythe. Shortly ADOT will be announc- ing the details of the award for our short range transit planning study.
