We have a strong pool of women that we look forward to recruiting this summer, our GPA is improving, and we've done a lot to give back to the community. Strong Outlook for Recruitment Our Chapter participated in Panhellenic Preview Day in February and met tons of great potential new members. We were able to show them pictures of different events throughout the year and explain to them all of the great things about being a KD. We also participated in Spring Panhellenic Parties, where we hosted almost 500 potential new members at our Under the Sea party at the KD house. Everyone enjoyed the photo booth and loved the theme. Academics Soar at KD Last semester our overall GPA was a 3.22, which is above the all-Greek average, the undergraduate average, and the all-women's average. Our new member GPA was a 3.13. We had 145 members earn a 3.5 GPA or above. We also had more than 40 members earn a 4.0 or higher. We are so proud of everyone's accomplishments this year! KD Celebrates Holidays with Girl Scouts For Halloween, we had the Tuscaloosa Girl Scouts over to the KD house before Sorority Row Trick-or-Treating. During the event, we painted mini pumpkins and made Halloween crafts with the girls. Afterward, we escorted the Girl Scouts from house to house for trick-or-treating where we taught them how to trick-or-treat safely. We invited the Girl Scouts back in February for a Valentine's Day party. During the party, we made crafts and decorated cookies and taught them about the importance of confidence and positive friendships. There was also a photo booth where all of the girls loved having their pictures taken! Chapter Gives Back Our Shamrock Run on March 7 was a huge success! We raised more than $31,500, which exceeded our goal. Seventy percent of this money will go to Family and Children Educational Services (FACES), 20% will go to Prevent Child Abuse America, and 10% is going to Children's Trust Fund. Thank you to everyone who helped us reach our goal! Also in March we hosted a prom for the students at CrossingPoints, which is a transitional school for students with disabilities, ages 18-21. Everyone dressed up and danced to fun music and had a great time. We want to thank our generous alumnae for always supporting us and for your commitment toward the capital campaign. The future of our Chapter is in good hands thanks to you. Please stop by the new house next fall if you're ever in the area and meet the newest members of Kappa Delta. Our door is always open!
