Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday- Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Christmas Eve. Cats rescheduled Chico Performances' Jan. 24 performance of the Broadway Musical of Cats has been rescheduled to 7:30 p.m. on April 8 in Laxson Auditorium. All Jan. 24 tickets to this performance will be honored at the April 8 performance. There is no need to contact the Univer- sity Box Office for a ticket exchange. Art offerings Shasta County Arts Council offers the following Courtesy photo Lincoln Street School Students recently completed an 8-week photography course. Under the direction of Mandi Owens, local videographer, students learned various techniques for taking captivating pictures. Using the community as their classroom, students took photos of the local post office, courthouse, Dave's Tractor, Inc. and Red Bluff River Park. The Big Picture donated mattes for each student and allowed students to have a hands-on experience, learn- ing how to choose colors for their mattes as well as use the matte cutting machine.The mat- ted photos will be displayed at the Tehama County Department of Education's gallery in Jan- uary. A reception for the Photography Club will be held 2:30-3:30 p.m. Jan. 5. Tempurpedic Pillows Monster piano concert Laxson Auditorium will resound with the thunder of 16 keyboards and up to 48 children (ages 6 to 18) pianists all play- ing at the same time during the Chil- dren's Piano Extravaganza scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012. With 16 to 48 students of all levels, grades 1-12, on stage following a conduc- tor, the concert is the ultimate team sport for piano. This group experience reduces the typical fear of performance, provides interaction with peers of similar interest and allows students to perform on a big stage experiencing the thrill of lights in their eyes and applause in their ears. More than 200 child pianists have CHICO — Gateway Sci- ence Museum is excited to announce the launch of its new Volunteer Program. Jennifer Jewell has recently joined the museum staff and has organized a dedicated program that will help make the volunteer experience fun and enriching. The mission of Gateway Science Museum is to cre- ate a life-long learning envi- ronment that enables people to explore, interpret and cel- auditioned and rehearsals are scheduled for Jan. 7, 14 and 21. This "monster" is created every year with the collaboration of piano students of about 30 local piano teachers, the Butte County Branch of the Music Teacher's Association of California, CSU, Chico, and generous donations from the community. National print competition The Janet Turner Print Museum, in collaboration with The University Art Gallery at CSU, Chico, and Bell-Carter Olive Company, presents the 9th Bien- nial Turner National Print Competition and Exhibi- tion. This every-other-year event, always one of the most innovative and engaging exhibitions spon- sored by The Turner, opens Jan. 30 and runs through March 4.
