Kappa Sigma 3 For Kappa Sigma Day of Service, Beta-Chi volunteered at the new Veterans Memorial Park in Rolla. The spring class of 2015 stands on the front steps after being initiated. Kappa Sigs and Zetas the raffle table at the 11th annual fish fry. A s the spring semester quickly escapes into summer, our Chapter looks back and reflects on our successful semester. Beta-Chi has continued to exemplify the four pillars by which we stand: scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service. Every year we make it our mission to set the bar higher and we continue to thrive on campus and within our brotherhood. Focus on Recruitment We started off the semester by welcoming back 21 newly initiated brothers from the fall semester. Through the diligence of our current recruitment chairman, Austin Lohr '13, we formally pledged 13 young men, making this spring class the largest our chapter has seen in recent history. We are confident that Austin and his recruitment committee will once again exceed expectations as they plan for fall recruitment. Exemplifying Leadership The brothers of Beta-Chi continue to emerge as leaders on campus. We currently boast four presidents and two vice presidents of prestigious campus organizations. For the second year in a row, Beta-Chi is home to the interfraternity council president, Chris Carlton '12. Leading St. Patrick's board as vice president, Josh Bergesch '12 was elected St. Pat. This marks the second year in a row that St. Pat has been a brother of Beta-Chi. Scholarship Remains Strong Scholarship is yet another way Beta-Chi excels on campus. Our Chapter earned a GPA of 3.039 for the fall semester. This puts us above the all- male and all-Greek GPAs and also marks the sixth consecutive semester we've been above the all-men's GPA. Our new members received a GPA of 3.135, which ranks among the top. Spotlight on Philanthropy This semester we hosted the 11th annual Kappa Sigma and Zeta Tau Alpha Fish Fry, which was a huge success. We raised $5,000, which went to help support Military Heroes Campaign and Breast Cancer Awareness. I am extremely pleased with the direction this Chapter continues to travel. Year after year we foster an environment of diligence and brotherhood. The Beta-Chi Chapter would not grow and become the pride of the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus without the support and donations from our dedicated alumni. Thank you and we look forward to many more years of success.
