Your gifts help keep the chapter house up to date and make Alpha Phi competitive at Mizzou. The goal is to renovate the kitchen before this fall, so contributions are still needed to make that happen. All contributions to the 2015 annual campaign will go to making these necessary improvements. The alumnae and friends listed below represent only those who contributed to Omicron in 2014. If an error has been made in recording your gift, we sincerely apologize. If corrections to your record are needed, please contact us at Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi, P.O. Box 1001, Columbia, Missouri 65205. Michelle Kramer '11 Receives Inaugural Val Lawlor Outstanding Senior Award L ast August, Chapter Advisor Carrie Moreland Reid '01 announced the creation of an annual award named in honor of Val Lawlor '71. The endowed scholarship is managed by Alpha Phi Foundation and jointly funded by the chapter, house corporation, advisory boards, alumnae, and friends. When announced, more than $10,000 had already been raised for the award. Val was greatly surprised and deeply honored. The award honors Val's lifetime of service, loyalty, love, and support for the Omicron Chapter and for representing Omicron in such a positive way at the international level. Val has been a dedicated member, volunteer, and leader for Omicron and Alpha Phi International for more than 40 years. She served on Alpha Phi International's Alumnae Strategy Team Steering Committee and the International Housing Committee. She has served as the Vice President for Extension for Alpha Phi International and as International's National Panhellenic Conference Alternate Delegate. She also served five terms on the Alpha Phi International Executive Board, ending her most recent term last June. Locally, she served as president of Omicron's house corporation and was an integral part of Omicron's revitalization in 1998. Michelle Kramer '11 was named as the first recipient of the Val Lawlor Outstanding Senior Award during Omicron's Red Dress Gala on Saturday, March 14. The St. Louis senior will graduate this May with a degree in hospitality management and plans to begin her career with the Four Seasons Hotel. Chapter members nominated seniors who served the chapter dutifully and loyally during their collegiate years and who plan to maintain their Alpha Phi involvement after graduation. Michelle received nominations from a wide variety of chapter members for her loyalty and constant supportive presence in the chapter. Throughout her collegiate membership, Michelle has been an "unsung hero," always eager to help wherever needed. Thank you, Val, for your dedication and love of Alpha Phi and Omicron! Congratulations, Michelle, on loyally serving Omicron and for being the inaugural recipient of this prestigious award!
