Richard R. Deussen '58 worked in engineering science for 33 years, retired, and went back to work for the City of Rifle, Colo., where he's worked for the past 12 years. He has 10 grandchildren. He is lucky enough to have built a life he doesn't really a need vacation from. Andy kept in touch with many brothers and lives close to a few. Miech '87 reports that his second book, Eleventh Heaven, was published in September 2014. It chronicles the 1995 national basketball champion, UCLA Bruins. Robert covered UCLA hoops and football for the Pasadena Star‑News. The backbone of that team and book was Ed O'Bannon. Robert went to Bangkok, Japan, and Prague, among others places to reunite with the guys and recount those days, that team, and what they have been up to since. "They key, though, was Ed, who has been in the news the past five years as the face of an epic lawsuit vs. the NCAA, which he won in August." Robert lives in Henderson, Nev. We are losing brothers from the '60s and this will be a chance to see them before they or you go! Come to the reunion to see and talk to the guys from 50 years ago. July 24-25 Cost for all four events is $50. Brothers from the sixties and early seventies, their significant others, widows, and ex-wives are invited. Friday, July 24 A barbecue lunch at the chapter house will begin at 11:30 a.m. Visit the renovated house and revisit memories of the past. The house will be under summer repair, paint, and cleanup, but the barbecue will be clean and ready to go. That evening, John Kiefer '67 has reserved the VFW Hall in National City with a band playing music from the sixties. Saturday, July 25 Meet on the infield of Del Mar Race Track. Food, drinks, and gambling are on you. At 6:30 p.m., Karen and John Steepy '69 will host a dinner party at their home in Bonita. The Taco Man will provide dinner; beer and wine will be served.
