T
hanks to all who have contributed
financially to the Preserving Our Past,
Securing Our Future: 100 Years at 548 South
State campaign. We have raised $1,209,775 in
signed pledges and received over $707,000 in
cash!
We would not be at this stage in the project
without the hard work and dedication of so
many alumni, family and friends. We have made
great progress with our capital campaign, but we
need to increase our contributions to ensure our
Chapter is on a solid financial foundation.
Although we are excelling in pledges and actual
dollars received, we are lacking in participation.
To date, only 157, or 9.9%, of our membership
has made a commitment. The average
participation among Greek campaigns is 25%.
Other fraternities on campus are completing
fundraising projects, and their percent of
participation is much higher than ours:
• Phi Kappa Psi - 12% participation
• Sigma Phi Epsilon - 20% participation
To begin Phase II of our project, which
involves replacing both porches and finishing
the front and middle basement spaces, we
must meet our $1.5 million goal. This part of
the project is very important for the future of
Theta Theta Chapter and must be completed
on time and on budget.
If you are among the 1,000 active alumni whose
name is not on our donor list, we need you now!
We need participation from every member
of Theta Theta to reach our goal. After
reviewing the plans and realizing the impact that
the updated facility will have on the Chapter,
several alumni have said, "Everyone needs to
give something because you really don't want to
be left out of this!"
I hope that you will take a moment to consider
the impact of Sigma Chi on your life and make
a pledge now, using the enclosed envelope.
Every pledge is important and strengthens the
brotherhood.
