The team announced the move Tuesday. Braden made three starts last season before being sidelined by a shoulder injury. He was 1- 1 with a 3.00 ERA before going on the disabled list April 18. He had surgery to a repair a torn capsule in his left shoulder May 17. The 28-year-old Braden is 26-36 with a 4.16 ERA in 94 career appearances during five seasons with Oakland. He pitched a perfect game against Tampa Bay on May 9, 2010. The A's have five play- ers who remain eligible for arbitration: pitchers Andrew Bailey, Joey Devine, Gio Gonzalez and Brandon McCarthy; and outfielder Ryan Sweeney. Brown signs w/ Warriors CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Free agent center Kwame Brown has agreed to terms on a one-year, $7 million contract with the Golden State Warriors. Agent Mark Bartel- stein says the offer in Golden State was ''too good to pass up.'' The loss of Brown leaves the Bobcats with a hole at center. Gana Diop, who is coming off a torn Achilles tendon, is the only center on the Bobcats roster. The 22nd edition tips off tonight with a slate of four girls basketball games. West Valley and Enterprise get the tournament started at 4 p.m. They'll be followed by Corn- ing and Shasta at 5:30 p.m. Red Bluff plays host to Cen- tral Valley at 7 p.m. Night 1 ends with the tourna- ment's defending champion the Paradise Lady Bobcats squaring off against the only switch from 2010 in this year's field — Fer- ndale, who replaces Etna. The Lady Spartans should be well rested for their tournament opener. In years prior Red Bluff had competed in two tourna- ments before the Classic, but this year they took a weekend off.
