Delta Upsilon Update 2 With this in mind, we're working to enhance our alumnae relations program to help our members stay in touch and to cultivate awareness and involvement in Delta Upsilon. There are several elements that are key to the program's success. We will mail two newsletters and e-mail one (total of 3 newsletters) each year containing alumnae news, information on upcoming events, reports on various chapter activities, and current lists of undergraduate new members and officers. Once a year, we will send out a biographical update that allows alumnae to update the information we have on record. These updates also provide the information for one of the most popular features in the newsletters, the "Alumnae News" section. Altogether, the updates are a vital tool in maintaining our records and our ties with one another. We hope that through Delta Upsilon's annual alumnae relations program your Sigma Kappa bonds are regularly renewed and strengthened. As we celebrate 55 years of sisterhood, consider getting involved, sharing ideas for articles, or planning a reunion. We would love to hear from you! We look forward to celebrating 60 years of Delta Upsilon in 2019. Delta Upsilon's success is dependent upon alumnae involvement! Dee Siscoe '83 always felt at home with Sigma Kappa. Dee's membership in the Delta Upsilon Chapter gave her undergraduate experience a sense of purpose that stretched beyond academic achievement. "I had the opportunity to be a part of a group of outstanding women. I was proud to wear my letters and my badge because they represented the good things that we were doing on campus and within the community." As a Panhellenic representative, Dee became a confident and experienced leader. She continued her role as a leader after graduating from MSU as a traveling consultant for Sigma Kappa. Dee spent a great deal of time at the University of Florida, working to recolonize the Beta Tau Chapter. "I realized then that working in higher education was a possible career path, leading me to work on my master's in counselor education." While Dee worked on her master's at Florida, Sigma Kappa hired her as a graduate consultant to help with the newly recolonized chapter. After earning her master's, Dee worked at several different colleges and earned her doctorate from University of North Texas. Since she moved frequently, she has had the opportunity to be a part of several alumnae groups. "Each step has helped me to learn and grow as a person and a professional. The experience that I had at MSU as a student leader laid the foundation that I have built my career upon." As vice president of student affairs at MSU, Dee takes pride in helping students realize their potential. She is proud to serve her alma mater and excited to reconnect with the Delta Upsilon Chapter. She has friendships with Sigma Kappas from several chapters and maintains Delta Upsilon relationships through Facebook and traveling each summer with a group of her sisters. Dee reminds Sigma Kappas that it is never too late to re-engage. Getting involved with alumnae groups, reading alumnae publications, or volunteering with the local collegiate chapter are all ways that Dee encourages involvement. She stresses that the Sigma Kappa network can help immensely when searching for jobs or transitioning into a new community. "I have gained as much from my Sigma Kappa membership after college as I did during college. Involvement with Delta Upsilon and other Sigma Kappas around the country have provided a lifetime of sisterhood, camaraderie, service opportunities, and leadership development." In her free time, Dee enjoys to read, travel, golf, and sew. She has a 10 year-old daughter named Lilly Grace, a future Sigma Kappa!
