14 APRIL 22-28, 2015 WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival is the perfect time for the community to come together to enjoy great events, all under the umbrella of the Dogwood Festival. Again this year, some of the community's favorite events are wrapped around the festival. A much anticipated local Dogwood Festival favorite, Hogs & Rags is set for Saturday, April 25. The fun actually starts Friday evening at Mac's Speed Shop. The welcome party kicks off at 7 p.m. and lasts until 9 p.m. It is a chance to get to know some of the other riders (many of whom come from out of town to participate), pre-register and enjoy some music and food the night before the big ride. There will be raffles, games and T-shirts as well. Saturday morning, registration starts at 7 a.m. at the Airborne Special Operations Museum. It's kickstands up at 9 a.m. as Mayor Nat Robertson and his wife, Kim, lead the police- escorted ride to Myrtle Beach. There are two stops on the way, one for a delicious breakfast and the other at the South Carolina border. The ride ends at Margaritaville at Broadway at the Beach. There will be plenty of time to eat, shop and put your toes in the sand before heading back to town. This year's Hogs & Rags proceeds will benefit the Green Beret Foundation, Kidsville News Literacy and Education Foundation and the American Cancer Society. Find out more at http://hogsandrags.com. Jazz on the Top of the Town is the final event of the Dogwood Festival. This night of dancing and entertainment is not only an amazing evening, but also an investment in the community's youth.
