The current bridge is a "tempo- rary" structure which has been in place for quite a few years, but which is not accord- ing to County standards and which does not have an engineered set of abutments or any foundation, but is merely set on existing soil at both ends of an approximately 90 foot span. For purposes of achieving a set of uniform bids, the following format should be used in all submissions. Current conceptu- al designs include 1) a concrete span bridge, 2) a railcar bridge and 3) an open culvert design. The first two are the pre- ferred alternatives at this time, since a culvert crossing was the original design which washed out. 1.
