D uring my time at Tech, I was so proud to wear my Theta letters everywhere I went. Gamma Phi has a wonderfully respected reputation across the nation and at Tech. To this day I am still so proud of the ladies in our sorority and the standards it upholds," shared Robin Davis Huckabee '88. Robin knew of Theta's strong reputation on the Texas Tech campus even before she was a student. She had two older friends from cheer team, Jennifer Watkins Johnston '87 and Marcy Patterson Roe '87, who had pledged Theta ahead of her. "I loved and admired them in high school and knew that if the girls in Theta were anything like they were, I was going to love them too. Sure enough, I loved the Thetas so much I went suicide Kappa Alpha Theta and never looked back!" Some of Robin's favorite memories are from work week and recruitment because she loved all the time spent at the lodge getting to know her pledge sisters better. She shared that late nights and hysterical laughter are at the top of her list, but nothing gives her more goosebumps or makes her well up more than the songs the sisters sang at preference night—she'll never forget the feeling of love in that room. The memories that Robin spent at the lodge are precious to her and passing that down to her daughters and the daughters of friends was the reason she chose to support the Linked Together… Building for Tomorrow campaign. "Black and gold runs in my family with an aunt, two cousins and my two sisters, Wendy Davis '92 and Carrie Davis Fetner '93, all being members of Theta. I also have a daughter, Mason Huckabee, going through recruitment this fall. To be able to keep the legacy going and seeing it handed down year after year made my decision to contribute to the campaign an easy one." Kappa Alpha Theta Comes Full Circle Linked Together... Building for Tomorrow Donor Spotlight: Robin Davis Huckabee '88 Robin and her pledge class on Bid Day in 1988. Robin and her sisters, Wendy Davis '92 and Carrie Davis Fetner '93, are all proud to be Gamma Phi Thetas. (Continued on page 6)
