Theta Techsan Kappa Alpha Theta • Gamma Phi Chapter • Texas Tech University Spring 2015 W hen we look back at our own Gamma Phi experience, we can see how the friendships, leadership, and service—even decades ago— helped shape who we are today. We are thankful for our close friendships with Theta sisters, for the leadership development that helped launch our careers, and for the numerous opportunities gained through Kappa Alpha Theta membership. We still remember, as we're sure you do, the great times we had together at the lodge and the memories we created. Gamma Phi collegians maintain the same values and traditions today that you upheld while at Texas Tech University. You can be proud that our chapter has sustained its strong reputation on campus. With the increasing size of our chapter, our current lodge can no longer keep pace with the growing chapter's needs. Several sororities on campus have recently completed renovation projects or built new, and, in order to maintain Gamma Phi's ability to attract the highest quality young women and remain competitive, we made the strategic plan to update and expand our lodge. By expanding our lodge, we will provide our members with a modernized facility that will help Gamma Phi maintain a competitive edge on campus while creating a safe home away from home for our 250 chapter members, and a home where all Gamma Phi alumnae can be proud to call their own. Updates to the lodge will include maintaining and updating the original basement, adding 9,345 square feet with new first and second floor additions, enlarging the kitchen and adding modern appliances, increasing and modernizing the bathrooms to facilitate our growing number of members, as well as a new chapter room that can accomodate our entire membership, installing a new fire safety system to comply with code, and much more. Given these immediate needs, the Facility Corporation Board is proud to announce the Linked Together… Building for Tomorrow campaign to secure our continued success at Texas Tech. Early commitments from generous alumnae, undergraduates, and friends total more than $781,370. This is a great start, but we need your help to reach or exceed our campaign goal of $1 million. This is the time to remember your Gamma Phi experience. Remember what impact Theta had on you, and think about how your life has been affected by your membership and your sisters. It is only through the lifelong bonds of Theta sisterhood that future generations may share the same experience. We need you now more than ever! In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing the project, the campaign, and ways in which you can help. We will be honored to have you join our growing list of loyal supporters who are leaving their legacy and providing for future generations, as previous sisters did for all of us. Thank you for your loyalty, consideration, and support of Kappa Alpha Theta.
