O n behalf of the Campaign for Xi Chapter leadership, we thank all who have participated in helping to restore and expand our chapter house. We would not be at this stage in the project without the hard work, dedication, and generosity of so many Xi alumnae, and it is gratifying to see so many of you step forward with very generous financial support. We all learned something from Sigma Kappa and many of us had similar experiences in our home on West Campus Road. Many of the memories and lessons you gained from Xi Chapter are intangible items; however, the one true tangible item of Xi is our home on campus. As you know, our facility was in need of repair. Our goal with the renovation and expansion was to create a high-quality, durable facility that will stand the test of time. We must remain competitive and strong on campus so the next generation of Sigma Kappas can make memories much like the ones you made. Our renovated home will help to ensure this. The Work Is Not Complete—Projects Remain Our collegians have made their house their own and are truly epitomizing what it means to be a Sigma Kappa at KU. We are so proud of them and it's wonderful to know that they are as strong as ever as a chapter. However, while the big portion of the work is done, we still need to furnish the library. And in the future, we would like to remodel the second floor rooms into suites and update the south bathroom. Thus, it's imperative that we reach our campaign goal of $500,000 to ensure we can finish these projects and that we do not leave a burden of debt on our chapter members in the form of higher room and board. Keeping room and board competitive among other on-campus housing and other sororities is crucial in producing a successful recruitment. Our ambitious goal has been challenging but rewarding as the alumnae and collegians are coming together to achieve success. Even with the tremendous success of the campaign thus far, we still need support to reach our goal, finish our projects, and ensure financial stability. We need your pledge today. You do not need to send in cash today; simply complete and return the enclosed pledge form with your generous multi-year commitment. You can also give online by visiting http:// sigmakappaxi.kintera.org/campaign. Through this website you can also set up a monthly or annual pledge. Help Us with a Pledge Today—You CAN Make a Difference! We have less than 15% participation; however, in order to reach our goal, we know we will need much more participation; therefore, we need your help today. Remember, any donor pledging $2,500 or more will be recognized on a prominently displayed plaque in the chapter house. That is just $500 a year (or just under $42 a month) for five years; an investment in Xi is well worth your donation. To put this into perspective, if every Xi alumna gave just $250 this year, that would be $375,000! Think of what we could do with that... what if everyone gave $250 a year? Pledges are so important as we go through construction because it helps us pay for projects as we go and in the future. Please consider a pledge as you fill out your giving form. Our campaign requires the support of many more alumnae to be successful. We can do this together. Thank you for your interest in and support of our sorority. It has proven to be a very special sisterhood!
