2 THE CAL SIG On another note, Chapter Advisor Del Tacconi, Utah State '62, will receive the prestigious honor of induction into the Sigma Chi Order of Constantine. We are very thankful for all Del has done for the Chapter in the past 11 years to assist us in remaining one of Sigma Chi's strongest chapters. Finally, we have just elected Ameya Nilkanth '17 and Connor Freeman '18 as our recruitment chairmen for the upcoming fall semester. If you know of any young men interested in learning more about our fraternity, please have them contact one of our recruitment chairmen or direct them to our website, calsigmachi.org, to fill out the brief recruitment interest survey. Chapter Advisor to Be Inducted into Order of Constantine Del Tacconi, Utah State '62, Honored for Dedication to Sigma Chi E ver since his initiation, Del Tacconi, Utah State '62, has been dedicated to and passionate about Sigma Chi. In 2015 he was rewarded for that dedication by being inducted into the Order of Constantine. The Order of Constantine is considered to be the highest honor that can be awarded to a Sigma Chi. It recognizes the dedication, contribution, and service to Sigma Chi that each individual has shown. Since its inception in 1948, 670 brothers have been accorded this great honor. When asked how he felt about being inducted into the Order of Constantine Del said, "I feel very humbled. It is the highest honor that can be conferred on a Sigma Chi." When he first went to Utah State, Del knew he wanted to join a fraternity. As he went through recruitment, there were a few contenders until he met the guys at Sigma Chi. These were the guys he fit in with and he loved what the fraternity stood for and valued. His undergraduate years were filled with fun memories and lessons learned from Sigma Chi. When he graduated he recognized his time with Sigma Chi was not over. After moving to Danville, California, Del saw an opportunity to get involved with the Alpha Beta Chapter. He has now been a chapter advisor for 11 years. His dedication to Sigma Chi stems from his belief that everyone should want to give back to the organization that had given them so much. The chapter helps shape men into the people they become, which is one of Del's favorite things about Sigma Chi. Del is now retired from his job of vice president at Swank Inc. and lives with his wife, Linda. Much of his time is spent catching up with other Sigma Chi alumni and his duties as chapter advisor. He will be presented the Constantine Award during Homecoming week in the fall of 2015. You can contact Del at cal.sigmachi.advisor@gmail.com. Congratulations, Del, and thank you for all of the dedication and service that you have given to Sigma Chi.
