As a founding father, he has seen the chapter through days of growth, prosperity, and sometimes struggles. His devotion for the fraternity has not faltered, as this marks his 10th year as House Corporation president. As an undergraduate, Chad was proud to be part of one of the top fraternities in the country. "The long and storied history and tradition of Delta Tau Delta was very appealing," he said. "It tied in well with A&M and the ties you feel to the University and tradition that goes along with it." Some of Chad's favorite moments from his time in Zeta Sigma are the volleyball tournaments and retreats. "No stress, no worries—just good times with good friends." He ran the Delt Dive volleyball tournament benefitting MDA for two years. Chad earned a B.S. in industrial distribution and today is the vice president of sales for Innovative IDM, an industrial automation distributor. In 2005, Chad was sought out to help secure the first Shelter for Zeta Sigma and helped begin and lead the House Corporation. His goals for this year are to secure new leases for the Shelter, complete significant renovations to upgrade the experience of living in the Shelter, and establish a program to ensure the house will always be full. While the material needs of Zeta Sigma have evolved over the years, alumni engagement remains a staple. Volunteering time and talent to the chapter is an invaluable gift. "It is a great chapter with a lot of history in a short period of time. The way it has grown since we started in 1990 is pretty remarkable. The quality of men in the chapter today at A&M is impressive and a great base for the future. What they need from us is guidance." Chad's closest friends today are members of the Zeta Sigma founding father class. He hopes that alumni will look at the value that Delt has added to their lives and by getting involved with the chapter remain committed to lives of excellence. Chad and his wife, Kari, live in Frisco, Texas, with their two children, Taylor (13) and Kyle (11). Chad enjoys coaching Kyle's baseball and football teams and supporting Taylor's competitive cheerleading. You can get in touch with Chad at ckauffman01@gmail.com. Chad Kauffman '93 Remains Committed to Lives of Excellence "The quality of men in the chapter today at A&M is impressive and a great base for the future. What they need from us is guidance." Officers in Zeta Sigma have paved the way for up-and- coming leaders like Johnny. "Chapter President Colton Beardmore '15 has made a strong impact on my two- year experience in Delta Tau Delta. He is a strong leader and role model that I look up to all the time. He has greatly influenced my perspective on how I want to act as a leader in the future." Johnny looks forward to continuing this involvement and leadership through his years at Texas A&M and beyond. "I plan on taking every opportunity possible as a Zeta Sigma member to maintain the strong brotherhood and friendship I have with so many Delts, running for positions in the chapter that hold responsibility and importance and using the social capital we have as Delts to transfer into success throughout my career." "Becoming a Delt has easily been the best decision I have made here at Texas A&M and I'm very excited for the future of the Zeta Sigma Chapter." A finance major, Johnny's plans include working as a financial analyst or business operations manager in Fort Worth, Dallas, or Houston for five to 10 years after graduation. He then plans to return to his hometown of Temple to join his father's business. Get in touch with Johnny at walkerja54@gmail.com.
