are almost upon us and everyone downtown is
getting into the spirit!
The day after Thanksgiving has become a
Fayetteville favorite to spend downtown.
A Dicken's Holiday, celebrating its 10th
anniversary, will be presented by the Arts Council

from 1 to 9 p.m. The Gilbert Theatre will be out

Carol, photos will be available with Father
Christmas, hot cider and gingerbread will be
offered for a bit of Christmas cheer and carriage
rides will be rounding the corner with a decorated

There are more activities for everyone
including a gingerbread house contest to be held
at the Rainbow Room from 1 to 5 p.m. with
professional chefs creating details for each house.
Spectators are welcome and votes are as well
with a "People's Choice Award" to be given at
9 p.m. Also, for the little ones, children can
create an original ornament to hang on the
community tree or take home for a keepsake at
Fascinate-U Children's Museum. As always, carolers will
line the streets and live entertainment will be hosted at the
Arts Council Building and at the Metropolitan Room.
Truly a magical moment, a candlelight procession and
tree lighting ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. with a
special performance by the Gilbert Theater and
appearances from Queen Victoria and Charles Dickens.
It is an amazing sight when the thousands of candles are
