Military Personnel may make group reservations for preferred seat- ing and get a military discount of $11.00 a ticket . $3.85 million Renova- tion to Crown Theatre and Arena Cumberland County officials have approved $3.85 million in renovations to the Crown Center Theatre and Arena. Specific items to be renovated will be the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and life-safety systems, which date back to the 1960's. The money necessary to upgrade the buildings will come from local food sales tax and federal economic stimulus funds, and not from property taxes. The anticipated time frame for the renovations is June thru Septem- ber, with all work being com- pleted prior to the 2010 Cum- berland County Fair. The season of Awe and Wander is here as the "Nutcracker Ballet" comes to the Crown Center Theatre! The North Carolina State Ballet production of the "Nutcracker Ballet", directed by Charlotte Blume, has a cast of 60 Danc- ers and Actors. International Guest Artists, Barbara Toth and Wei Ni perform the principal roles of Sugar Plum Fairy and Cavalier. Additionally, Mr. Ni will dance the Nutcracker Prince in the first act with Anne Talkington or Dara Buffaloe who alternate as Clara. Daniel Moore performs as Drosselmeyer, The Magician. April Glasper is the Flower Queen. Mr. Ni trained in China and has performed with the Tulsa Ballet Theater, Cincinnati Ballet and the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. Ms. Toth was trained in Buda- pest and has performed exten- sively in Europe. Shows are Sunday December 6, Saturday December 12 and Sunday December 13 at 3 pm. Tickets for general admission seating are $14.00, and are available at the Crown Center Box Office. Military Appreciation Day is The Nutcracker at the Crown Center Theater Come to the Crown Center for a chance to GET CROWNED! HE GOT CROWNED! Scott Gonzales Scott Gonzales got crowned recently at auditions for Wheel of Fortune at the Crown Center Arena. Attending the Wheel of Fortune auditions with his wife and family, Scott was enthusiastically trying to get the attention of show producers when he was spied in the crowd. Scott is a fi refi ghter for the City of Fayetteville. The Gon- zalez' are 7 year residents of Fayetteville, originally hailing from Oakland, CA.
