The Beacon 4 DELTA KAPPA MEMBERS HOLD INFLUENTIAL POSITIONS ON CAMPUS Chapter Takes Home First Place in Homecoming A fter a successful fall semester, the Delta Kappa Chapter of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity is off to a fast start this new year. We are looking forward to continued excellence on campus, in the community, and within the fraternity. As we grow into one of the premier fraternities on campus, we strive to uphold the values that make this fraternity special: scholarship, fellowship, and character. CHAPTER WELCOMES 37 NEW BROTHERS We are growing bigger every semester. This spring we initiated 37 new members that will benefit this chapter greatly and have a new pledge class of 12 outstanding men. We look forward to teaching them our principles and seeing what they will contribute to our fraternity. "We look forward to implementing our new eight- week pledge program and to working with our new members throughout the se- mester," says New Member Educator Jordan Maun '14. ON-CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT Last fall we hosted our 5k philanthropy benefitting the Community After-School Program. We are proud to have raised over $16,000 for them and look forward to raising even more next fall. We had a very exciting fall with campus activities. Our fall new members put on a great show with Pi Beta Phi in CAC University Sing and placed second. We paired with Gamma Phi Beta and Beta Upsilon Chi for Homecoming and I am proud to announce that we won first place. Not only is our chapter doing great things, but we also have individual members making a difference on campus. Payne Parker '13 was elected to the position of IFC president. He is the first ATO since we've been rechartered to achieve this and we are very proud of him. Matt Rogers '13 and Tucker Hein '14 are CAC chairmen of Winter Welcome Week and College Bowl, respectively. These are huge positions within the University and we are proud that they are representing ATW. THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT FOR DELTA KAPPA There are a lot of exciting things coming up this semester. We are paired with Kappa Alpha Theta in CAC Scandals and we look forward to seeing their show later in the semester. The OU spring game will be held on April 11, and we en- courage all alumni to visit us and watch the game. The Delta Kappa Chapter is on the rise and we are very excited for what is in store for us this year. We have set our sights high, and as a chapter will become better every year. Thank you to everyone who has supported us; we encourage anyone to come stop by and see what we are up to. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. Fraternally, Anthony Losole '13 Worthy Master a.losole@yahoo.com (214) 263-3046 ATW hosted Spooky Sprint 5K, benefitting the community after-school program.
