Our recruitment effort brought 15 new associate members with the help of the Hingst Scholars Program. It aims at developing leadership, academic, and professional skills in three seminars designed for freshmen. The Alumni Chapter was able to give nine men $500 scholarships after attending the seminars and eight of those joined our Chapter. Keeping the momentum going, our fall cumulative GPA was a 3.01. Our associate members also excelled by obtaining a 3.28 semester GPA as a pledge class. Reaching out to the Community Along with recruitment being a huge success, our activity on campus was amplified in the fall. We were flag football champions in a philanthropic tournament hosted by Alpha Xi Delta. We also had a great time raising $365 for Habitat for Humanity through our first bubble soccer tournament in December. Leadership Education and Opportunities Brothers attended the Membership Education Forum, where Beta Sigs were educated on topics such as brotherhood, issues facing current Greeks, and knowing how to dress for an interview. A service project was done as a national Fraternity, bagging meals for Kids Against Hunger. MEF was capped with an awards banquet where Beta Chapter received the Hillard Award for exceptional chapter achievement. Using MEF as a springboard, our brothers dove into 2015 ready to develop, influence, serve, and achieve here at Purdue. Our Chapter's spiritual focus remains top priority, and brothers enjoy developing relationships with ULU's new pastor, Rev. Justin Herman, through weekly Bible studies and weekend worship. Alumni, Send in Recruitment Recommendations As each semester brings its agendas, Beta Chapter has a lot on our schedule for spring 2015. Our annual Open House and scholarship interviews for high school seniors will be March 28. We are also planning a Mom's Day to celebrate the families we have been blessed with and who encourage us so much. Brothers are focused on a successful Grand Prix weekend this year, with the race taking place on April 25. Continue to pray for the extraordinary brotherhood found at 525 N. University Street. It certainly is an incredible time to be a Beta Sig! Fraternally, Justin S. Macke '13 Chapter President betasigs.executive@gmail.com Brothers at the Membership Education Forum in St. Louis, Mo.
