Sigma Phi EPSilon FratErnity FloridA AlphA ChApter p.o. Box 12182 gAinesville, Fl 32604-0182 Address Service Requested SigEp Gator Heart On my wedding day nine SigEp brothers stood at my side, and in August of this year I will stand next to my best friend, Brian Share '05, as he gets married in Los Angeles. To let this organization fall to the wayside would be a travesty. Brothers before me preserved SigEp for my benefit, and it is time that I do my part to preserve it for the next generation of SigEp brothers," he said. "Ironically, in my efforts to give back to SigEp I am finding that SigEp continues to give back to me. I would encourage anyone to volunteer time to SigEp: I am finding I gain more than I give despite my efforts to give more than I gain," Ridgway concluded. Fraternally, Al Alsobrook '59 Restoring the Brotherhood (Continued from page 2) VIRTUE, DILIGENCE, AND BROTHERLY LOVE – LESSONS LEARNED ALONG THE ROAD Fundraiser in Chief Bill Bell '77 Has Been a Busy Brother F rom September to December, I have had the true privilege of traveling the State of Florida to meet with dozens of my amazing SigEp brothers. It's difficult to explain how sitting across from a brother who may be 20 years older or younger than me, whom I've never met before, is like reuniting with a lifelong friend. The grins, smiles, and outright laughter that inevitably erupt are infectious. The stories about our brothers and experiences lived by virtue of SigEp are recognized immediately. There are not many things I would trade the experience for, and I hope to continue these efforts with growing diligence. I want to thank each of you with whom I've met and sincerely hope that we shared the concept of brotherly love mutually – I certainly felt it in every meeting! Although in three months of travel and meetings we have raised over $157,000 in new campaign pledges we still have many miles to go. While we are over halfway to our $3,300,000 goal with $1,827,000 in written pledges, we simply cannot afford to sit back and wait to see what happens any longer. Florida Alpha Needs You Now! Nothing Happens if Everyone Waits Decisions on actual spending are fast approaching and will be based solely on written commitments from each of us. We need to know what we can count on, and when you let us know is critical! Granted we had some distractions along the way, but we are now three years into our campaign and that time is here and NOW. With the ability to spread your pledge over as many as five years, it doesn't have to all come at once, but without your commitment to Florida Alpha we cannot make accurate financial decisions. Please join us in making something great happen and make your pledge today! Brothers have already delivered over $895,000 of the monies pledged and remain on track with their pledges. Fraternally, Bill Bell '77 (540) 974-2455 / ToSpace@visuallink.com SPREAD THE WORD We need everyone's commitment to Florida Alpha. Help us involve others! Please call or e-mail me and I'll send you everything you need to find and reach out to your contemporaries and inform them of where we are. I'll send you a list with contact information for brothers intitiated two years before you through your class year. I'll also send our plan presentation, pledge form, and current donor list. We invite and encourage every brother to use these tools and send them to their SigEp friends. Brothers calling brothers is the most effective awareness vehicle we could possibly have!
