CentralTehamagirlsbasketballtourneyresults KIWANIS Dear Readers: Every day, as you can proba- bly imagine, I get a ton of mail. These days most arrive via email which is conve- nient and inexpen- sive. But I still get plenty of cards and letters in enve- lopes with postmarks and stamps. Your messages are all so encouraging; I wish I could personally respond to each and every one. Imagine my excite- ment to get the following report from this couple in New Jersey: Dear Mary: We just want to say thank you. Your columns, advice, thoughts and ideas helped our family out of debt. On Nov. 1, 2014, we became debt-free and paid off $232,793.59. Your news- letters were encourag- ing and helpful and we are grateful for your gift. Continue your work and, again, thank you. — Judy and Dwayne. Dear Judy and Dwayne: I get some fabulous mail, but I have to admit that after reading your note (handwritten on a beauti- ful greeting card, I might add) I had to pick my- self up off the floor. Wow. Nearly a quarter of a mil- lion dollars in repaid debt. That is remarkable. I am so proud of you. I'd love to know more. In fact, I would love to write your story one day. That would be so encouraging to others on their jour- neys to getting debt-free, and would affirm and val- idate this amazing thing that you've done in your own lives. Dear Mary: We have your e-booklet "Cheap- skate Solutions" with many recipes for win- dow cleaner. Do you have a recipe or source for a cleaner that is also a de- fogger? We'd like this for bathroom mirrors and car windows. — William Dear William: There is a product, Rain-X Glass Cleaner with Anti-Fog available online and in the auto supply stores. However, before you run out and spend any money, give this a try: shaving cream. It does work really well to defog windshields, windows and mirrors. Even your eyeglasses. Just clean the item with shav- ing cream (if it's really dirty, clean it first then re-clean with the shaving cream). Shaving cream re- ally does work well, and it's cheaper than Rain-X. Dear Mary: Is Tuft & Needle too good to be true? We are needing a good-quality queen-size mattress. I've already built us a nice, sturdy platform, so now we need a good mattress. I have back problems, and from what I'm seeing the Tuft & Needle would be the perfect answer both for my back and for my cheapskate pocketbook! The price is right. And it comes with a 30-day full- refund policy. How can we lose? Everywhere I look online all I can find are positive reviews! Am I missing something here? — Scott and Pam Dear Scott and Pam: Have you been inside my head or something? I have been looking at this very same company my- self, in anticipation of purchasing a new mat- tress for our guest room. You are right about those reviews, too. I'm this close to pulling the trig- ger on a Tuft & Needle mattress, provided I can get over my old-school way of thinking that to be any good a mattress needs to weigh about a thousand pounds and be nearly impossible to maneuver up stairs and around corners. Since I won't be buy- ing for a few months, how about we do this: You go first. Then send me your own review. I'll be sure to follow up here so every- one can get in on it. Great deal, don't you think? I'm kinda smiling here. I am as confident as possible in a Tuft & Needle mattress, in that I have not yet slept on one. I would not hes- itate one more day if I were you.
