Cattle Days will again be held at the Fairgrounds in Red Bluff. Come and either participate or observe the old fashioned Way of the West. This is an exam- ple of life before X-Box and video games, when families enjoyed working and spending time together. This event is a fundraiser to help the Red Bluff Junior Round-Up continue to support the "Western Heritage" of our area. This is the 16th year for Cattle Days which is ear- marked as a "Family Event" and they continue to offer events for all ages. Age groups are 5-and-under, 6-10, 11-13, 14-19 and 20-and-over. In the past years grandpar- ents, children and grandchil- dren have all competed for awards. All events are jackpot and the Loft/Reynolds Ranch has generously donated half of the gift certificates again this year to be awarded to all first place winners. This year Cattle Days is proud to be able to offer "Bob Berg" award belt buckles for All Around win- ners in each age division and a reserve award also. Events will include Sorting, Doctoring, Branding, Steer Riding, Calf Riding, Mutton Busting, Chute Dogging, Steer Stoping, Steer Riding, Cow Hide Race, Sack Roping, Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Ribbon Roping and Team Roping. Entries close on Nov. 15, or entries may enter on the day of with a $25 penalty. All event entries are $20 each and $60 for the team events. FOX 5:05 p.m. Texas leads series 3-2 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Joe Pavelski scored twice to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators Tuesday night. Logan Couture also scored for the Sharks. Both varsity boys' teams were undefeated in league going into this race. Paradise took the win by the slim margin of one point. Three of the Spartans fell, which may have been the difference in this race. Aza Bravo, Red Bluff's number four, ran too close to the edge of De Sabla Reser- voir and fell in. The varsity boys will face Paradise again at the league final next Thursday in Oroville. Paradise was incomplete at the varsity girls' level. Red Bluff's varsity girls ran very well with a surprise move by Adrienne Hinkston to No. 1. Two of the Red Bluff girls fell in this race as well. The Spartan Varsity girls have only one loss to Oroville. The Spartans travel to Susanville Wednesday for their last league dual against Lassen High School. Pavelski leads Sharks to win
