Goodwin was originally granted formal probation. He violated his probation when he was found in possession of drugs, packag- ing materials and a firearm. Goodwin also failed to register as a sex offender as required. • David Richard Gonzalez was sentenced to two years in state prison for failure to update registration; failure to appear on own recognizance. Gonzalez is a registered sex offender and failed to update his annual registration. Gonzalez was released from custody on his own recognizance and failed to appear in court as ordered. Recent County Jail Commitments • Steven Donald Kuss was sentenced to 90 days in Tehama County Jail for possession of a controlled substance. Kuss was originally granted formal probation. He violated his probation when he failed to keep in contact with probation and failed to appear for scheduled appointments as directed. Upcoming Court Dates -Trials, Preliminary Hearings(PX) & Pre Trial Conferences(PTC) • Thomas Charles Scott will appear in court at 8 a.m. on Nov. 8 in Dept. 3. He is facing the charges of cultivating marijuana with special allegation-prior strikes, possession of marijuana for sale with special allegation-prior strikes, possession of concen- trated cannabis with special allegation-prior strikes, maintaining place for selling or using controlled substance with special alle- gation-prior strikes. Agents from the drug task force served a search warrant at Scott's residence and located large amounts of marijuana, con- centrated cannabis and marijuana food products for sale. From the Skyway in Chico, turn south on Dominic Drive and east on Morrow Lane to the sign on Cramer Lane. Fall colors should be great. This USDA station was established on land donated by the Bidwells in 1904 where hundreds of trees and shrubs from all parts of the world were planted to assess their value for medicine, fruit production and landscaping. We'll drive east 9 miles on Hwy 32 to the Green Gate Trail Head. From there we'll follow an historic wagon road down to Big Chico Creek, our lunch site. On our return we'll see buckeye and black oak in fruit and stop at a spring where a homestead once stood. Be prepared for a 700' eleva- tion gain back to the trail head. Four miles round trip.
