Building a Better Beta-Tau A s with all fraternity houses, the Beta-Tau Chapter House offers our undergraduate Brothers more than just a home. Our undergraduate Brothers are able to grow their leadership skills through managing the facilities, kitchen/dining operations, financial operations, and community relations. While they are students at Baker, they are also residents of Baldwin City and caretakers of a structure owned by all Beta-Tau of Kappa Sigma alumni. While our Chapter House is the newest on campus, it is also in the most need of renovation. Fraternity houses are subject to a lot of wear and tear. Over the years, the Beta Tau of Kappa Sigma Society has tried to maintain much of the necessary repairs and small renovations to keep the property up to date, but the time has come that change to the Chap- ter House needs to happen. is change will impact how our under- graduate Chapter operates, how our alumni interact, and, most impor- tantly, how future generations of Brothers understand commitment and responsibility. What was a part of your fraternity experience? e Kappa Sig Chapter House has offered the opportunity to have a better Fraternity experi- ence. What does it mean to build a better Beta-Tau? It means having: • An up-to-date fire-suppression system to increase safety for our Brothers. • More user-friendly space in the front of the Chapter House for Brothers and guests to gather. • Specific study areas equipped with technology that today's students expect. is is already available in the dorms for the students at Baker. • An appealing new "face" to the front of the Chapter House with pro- fessional landscaping to set a positive first impression of our home, as well as a maintenance fund. • Industrial-strength bathrooms that will tolerate the high-traffic use by our Brothers. Our commitment as Brothers is not for a day, an hour, or college term only. Many have already stepped up to volunteer their time, treasure, and talent on this project. e Brothers of the Beta Tau of Kappa Sigma Society and Chapter Advisors are committed and preparing the under- graduate Brothers to rise up to accept new and higher responsibilities. e undergraduate Brothers are committed to strengthening Chapter operations, especially recruitment to restore our Chapter's position to being top at Baker, and top in Kappa Sigma. All of this means building a better Beta-Tau!
