AfterDark A By Kelly Twedell fter a long week while some are heading home to re- lax, a large segment of locals are getting ready to let their hair down and hit the night life scene. No matter what you fancy, live music and dancing can be found in all corners or Fayetteville. The historic downtown area is cool with an edge — the edge of diversity, that is — and it seems to be the hub for many people. At Pierro's Italian Bistro when the after dinner crowd and wine connoisseurs wind down and stroll to their cars the estab- lishment transforms into the newest entertainment venue on the block. The Sky Lounge anchors the scene with its beautiful backlit dark wood and marble trimmed bar with lush white leather Vegas inspired seating. The disc jockey spins out heart pumping con- temporary favorites as the crowd dances with drinks in hand. From the young district attorneys to older business profession- als, they cater to a wide range of club goers who want to party until the wee hours of the morning. Meandering further along downtown's brick streets, you are With a DJ spinning dance music and a line of people waiting to get in, Huske Hardware House and Brewery turns into "Club Huske" late at night. sure to run into the long line at Huske Hardware House, a brew pub with a late night club scene. You may have to wait a bit to get in, but once inside you'll see that the wait was worth it. Owners Josh and Tonja Collins are locals who serve their clientele well. Josh knows a thing or two about service having spent a majority of his earlier career days as an officer at Fort Bragg. From their pub fare to their craft microbrews, there is something on the menu to satisfy your late night cravings. At the other end of the block is Lido's — The Euro Spot, where traditional European-in- spired dishes go hand-in-hand with bartenders who know how to pour a generous drink and who create some tasty concoctions for their weekly specials. Lido's entertainment rotates from live Jazz by local musicians or rousting dance tunes spun by a DJ that keeps the crowd packed in on the dance floor. Looking to party uptown? Both Luigi's and Morgan's Chop House are best known for their decadent dishes and broad menu offerings, but they spare no expense on live entertainment. Luigi's boasts an extensive wine selection and if you opt to dine in their bar area on Friday nights, you'll be treated to some local flavor by the sensational smooth jazz sensation, Essen- tial Elements. Frequently the same band can be heard at Morgan's as well, where the crowd sways to their melodic strains after a full four course meal.
