FayettevilleFestivals The wealth of history and diversity in this community is something residents celebrate with festivals that take place throughout the year. The International Folk Festival is held every fall in downtown Fayetteville and features residents who hail from around the world showcasing the native dress, dance and foods from their region. Now in its 33rd year, the culmination of the festival is the Parade of Nations, when representatives from dozens of countries don traditional garb and parade through the streets dancing, playing cultural music and celebrating their heritage. Each year in early fall Fayetteville's large and tight-knit Greek community invites everyone else to sample their culture during the annual Grek Festival held at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. 38 | Accents • 2011 - 2012 Downtown Fayetteville is transported back to Charles Dickens' days every year on the day after Thanksgiving during the A Dickens Holiday festival.
