The Stone Chiefs Rock Fayetteville by STEPHANIE CRIDER The Stone Chiefs Up & Coming Weekly recently talked to The Stone Chiefs about their adventures in Fayetteville. UCW: Who are your band members and what instruments do they play? SC: Dallas Perry, is our lead vocalist. David Arnn plays the guitar, so does Aaron Wiig and Brian Torrence. Twig Neece plays the drums. UCW: Give us a brief history lesson on the band. When and where did you get started? SC: The union of these five men that are The Stone Chiefs was purely chance, like the Big Bang. The soul that bleeds from this band, however, is by the grace of Rock-n-Roll gods. The infancy of this group began with David Arnn and Aaron Wiig. They became fast friends in college with faster fingers. David and Aaron learned more about slinging guitars in their dorm room than anything they learned in class. Not long after, they met up with Brian "BT" Torrence, who con- stantly blew them away with his endless supply of catchy riffs. An unholy trinity of Rock-n-Roll was formed, and these men took the first steps in creating The Stone Chiefs…they began to JAM. UCW: How did the band get its name? SC: We wanted something original, in charge, and heavy. UCW: How would you define your music? SC: Rock/Southern Rock. UCW: Who are your favorite bands/influences on your music? SC: Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Cult, The Beatles. UCW: Do you write your own music and where does that inspiration come from? SC: Yes we do. Inspiration comes mainly from hot women. Our debut album, Drive On, was released on Aug 1, 2011. We poured our hearts and souls into Drive On, and hopefully, this shines through on first listen. UCW: If you only had two words to describe your band what would they be? SC: Soul Rocked UCW: What are your hopes/goals for the future of your band? SC: To keep making people happy with our music and make some money. UCW: Where do you see the band five years, 10 years from now? SC: Hopefully touring the world, making music UCW: Where can Fayetteville music lovers check in with you in the near future? SC: On Oct. 21 we will be playing at The Dog House in Fayetteville.
