A Slice of Pi
Fall 2014
T
his fall, more than 425 alumnae and undergraduates gathered in Lincoln during the weekend
of November 14-16 to 'Celebrate Pi' and 100 years of Gamma Phi Beta sisterhood. In addition
to tours of the chapter house and many pledge class gatherings, the highlight of the weekend was
a gala celebration dinner at the Embassy Suites. Our special guest, Gamma Phi Beta International
President Krista Spanninger Davis, Bowling Green '87, congratulated Pi Chapter on its centennial
and celebrated the many things the chapter has accomplished in the past 100 years, including receiving
27 convention awards since 1968. The evening included some favorite songs from throughout the years
and a slideshow on the history of Pi Chapter and culminated in a very special Founders' Day ceremony.
I wish to thank the members of the centennial committee for
all of their work over the past year in planning this special
celebration, as well as the undergraduates who volunteered to
give house tours or to help at the centennial dinner. I also thank
all of the alumnae who have made donations to Pi Chapter in
honor of the centennial celebration. We are so pleased that so
many sisters were able to come home to 'Celebrate Pi'!
