Box 7842 Austin, TX 78713 - 7842 Address Service Requested Beta Mu Review the M ore than 200 parents and family members joined their sons for the annual fall Pike Parents Weekend in October. Parents enjoyed a Friday evening reception and dinner at the Pike House before a full Saturday of tailgating with Pikes and friends as the Texas Longhorns, in one of their better performances on the gridiron this season, defeated Iowa State. B eta Mu received top awards at the Pi Kappa Alpha International Convention held August 2-4, 2014 in Baltimore, Md. The U.T. Pikes were awarded the Raymond L. Orians Excellence Award, signifying us as one of the highest performing chapters. The Orians Award is evaluated upon academics, athletics, philanthropy, finances, recruitment, member retention, and alumni relations measures. The award is the second highest presented to chapters and is given to 25 of 240 international Pike chapters. Texas Pikes also received the Scholarship Award for its 3.2 chapter GPA, ranking sixth among all Pike chapters scholastically. Beta Mu received the 100-Man Chapter Award. This is the sixth consecutive year we have received these two awards. The Beta Mu Alumni Advisory Board was acknowledged among the fraternity's top 25 advisory boards for making contributions to the Beta Mu Chapter undergraduates and expanding alumni relations. The next International Convention will be in August 2016 in New Orleans, La. Make plans to attend with your Beta Mu brothers! Will Brown '11 and his parents from Southlake. Will has held several Pike offices and is a Silver Spur. Will graduates with an economics degree in December 2014 and his leadership will be missed! Justin Smith '14 and his parents enjoyed their first Parents Weekend. Justin is a freshman pledge from Houston studying mechanical engineering. Dylan Hamer '12, a business major from New York, was recognized with the Frederick Southgate Taylor Award during Parent's Weekend in recognition of extraordinary leadership and service to Pike as an undergraduate. Pike Receives Prestigious International Awards Beta Mu received numerous awards as a high-performing Pike chapter.
