Pi Beta Phi 5 T he California Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi is back at USC for the new school year, and it's been a great start. Our members are all settled in around campus and taking on a diverse set of classes and internships. We kicked off the fall with a spectacular recruitment. We welcomed 75 new members and we could not be more excited to have them. They have been settling into their new home and experiencing all the new member program has to offer, including Pink Angel Week, when our new members found out the identities of their big sisters! We have already had our first invite of the year, Luau, as well as multiple game days and sisterhood events to get to know our new members. In September, we hosted our annual Parent Preview day where family and friends could come see how we ran recruitment and tour our beautiful home. It was so nice to give our friends a glimpse into one of our favorite times of the year. We also held our annual fall philanthropy, Arrowspike, a row-wide sand volleyball tournament where fraternities compete against each other for a great cause. This year all proceeds were split between the Scott Carter Foundation for cancer research and the World Is Just A Book Away program promoting literacy and building libraries in underprivileged countries around the world. We are so happy to start a partnership with this USC-based program and can't wait to see what the collaboration has in store. Other exciting events this semester are scholarship dinner, where girls bring their professors to dinner in order to celebrate their academic accomplishments, Parents Weekend, Inspo week, Initiation and our last invite of the fall, Inspo, where we recognize our new member class. With all of the exiting events planned, and the holidays just around the corner, we are all looking forward to the remainder of the fall semester and excited to carry on the Pi Phi legacy.
