Zeta Chapter of Kappa Delta at the University of Alabama - Fall 2014 The Katydid I t's a great time to be a KD and the excitement at The University of Alabama is palpable. Our college members had a successful recruitment, bringing home 121 new members. All of our members are looking forward to moving into the new house next August. Construction is well underway, and our construction manager reports that the project is on schedule. Earlier this month the basement foundation was re-enforced and the framing is now completed. We are pleased with the progress and know that the coming months will bring even more excitement as the new house starts to take shape. We have made great progress with the First Sorority, First Circle…Continuing the Tradition campaign to fund our new Kappa Delta house. To date we have raised an impressive $2,472,236 toward our $2.5 million goal. A sincere and heartfelt thanks to those who have already contributed. The finish line is in sight, but we need the help of all Kappa Delta sisters to get there. Only 19% of Kappa Delta alumnae have given back to the campaign. We want this to be a collaborative effort across all generations, and we know we can improve our participation rate. To those who have not yet made a gift, we strongly encourage your thoughtful consideration of this project. Participation is our main focus now, and gifts of all levels are much appreciated. This campaign is vital to our success and your help is needed immediately so that we may reach our goal as quickly as possible. The facts below might help in the consideration of your own level of support. • Pledges may be stretched over a five-year giving period, if desired. Many sisters have taken advantage of this opportunity to max- imize their giving potential. • Remember, since all donations for this campaign go through The University of Alabama, 100 percent of your gift is tax deductible. • All donors contributing a minimum of $2,500 to the campaign will be recognized on a plaque prominently displayed in the new Chapter House.
