Oct. 28th. Mr. Coleman explained that beginning January 1, 2015, it will be sim- pler for businesses to file Arizona's transaction privilege tax (TPT). That's because the Arizona Department of Revenue ( AZ DOR) will become the single point of administration and collec- tion for Arizona state and local TPT. There will no longer be any city auditors; they will be state auditors. Sales Tax payer licenses will have to be renewed every year and everything will now be done on-line. Changes include the following: License Renewals: Every business licensed with the Arizona Department of Revenue is required to renew their Arizona transaction privilege tax license. The license is valid for one calendar year and must be renewed annually. The re- newal is due January 1, 2015. There is no State renewal fee. You must complete and submit this form to the Arizona Department of Rev- enue even if you do not have any changes. Your renewal notice will be sent separately within the next month. If you do not receive your notice by December 31, 2014, please call 602-542-5027. Prime Contracting Changes: Effective January 1, 2015, non-construction, or service contactors, are exempted from prime contracting on both the state and city levels. Other changes include: Filing Frequency Changes, Due Date Changes, Audit Changes, Standardized Business Codes, Standardized Deduction Codes. More information will soon be available at www.azdor.gov. You can also watch the video of the presentation to Quartzsite Town Council online at www.QuartzsiteVideos.com Look for " Town Council Meeting - "New Way to Pay Taxes" date 10-18-14". Everyone currently licensed with the AZ DOR will need to update the license if anything is changed such as the owner or location. This may require an extra fee. The TPT Simplification Is- sues Hotline phone number is 602-542-5027. In Memoriam Jerry Bandy A man who used to work at the Quartzsite RV Show for many years died around the 10th of September. He and his father, Carl, lived and worked on the RV Show lot putting up, and taking down the main tent. They also helped with the vendors in many ways as well as the park- ing. They worked many years in the summer as camp hosts at Lobster Creek along the Rogue River, in Oregon. I met him while camp- ing approx. 30 years ago in Oregon. I would see him later in Quartzsite in the many winters I lived there also. He loved the Rogue River and fishing. They called him "two fires" along the river, as he would build two fires to fish from be- tween them . He loved people and Happy Hour was his time to share stories and joke around. He was of Cherokee heritage. As written by a friend, White Dove.
