Help with driving test ADOT offers help for applicants taking the driver license written test MVD provides online practice tests PHOENIX – Applicants for an Arizo- na driver license who have to take the written test have a valuable new tool at their disposal. The Motor Vehicle Division of the Arizona Department of Transportation has created an online written practice exam. The written practice questions can be accessed at: http://www.azdot.gov/ mvd. There are two practice tests with 10 questions each. The questions are a sample of the type of questions and multiple choice answers that an ap- plicant will find on the actual 30-ques- tion test. All of the answers for not only the practice test but also the actual exam are taken from the Arizona Driver Li- cense Manual and Customer Service Guide which can be obtained from any MVD office, authorized third party lo- September 7, 2011 cation or online athttp://www.azdot. gov/mvd. "ADOT wants to prepare applicants to successfully pass the written exam and, more importantly, to motivate them to read the manual prior to completing the driver license exam process," said Stacey Stanton, ADOT Motor Vehicle Division director. "The manual not only contains the infor- mation required for the driver license process but also provides excellent driver and vehicle safety tips." The questions are designed to test an applicant's knowledge of the infor- mation any driver is required to pos- sess such as Arizona traffic laws, rules of the road for safe vehicle operation, and common sense driver tips. Currently, only about 44 percent of Arizona applicants taking the driver li- cense written exam successfully pass it the first time. "Our goal is for applicants to study the manual and take the practice test before going into an MVD office," Stanton said. "The motoring public will benefit when we have knowledge- able and safer new drivers behind the wheel." War & Home Comfort Dedicated to our troops serving overseas by Paul Winer, Aug. 16, 2011 The evening cricket sings In places I've never been before, And on this sound alone I'm in my garden Long ago at home. I just watched my buddy Get shot and die, and I Had to wait silently. I couldn't even cry or even Whimper my rage. Just listen to crickets At night Quietly Watching for a sniper… While silently I briefly Had a visit home.
