Citizens Encouraged to Sign Up
umberland County Emergency Services has contracted with Emergency Communications Network to license its CodeRED
urgent messages to targeted areas or to the entire county. Individuals and businesses can sign up for the alerting service. Emergency Services Director Kenny Currie cautioned that such
systems are only as good as the telephone number database supporting them. "If your phone number is not in the database, you will not be called," Currie said. "No one should automatically assume his or her phone number is included." To sign up for CodeRED, individuals and businesses can log onto
the County's website, www.co.cumberland.nc.us, and follow the link to the Citizens without Internet access may call the Emergency

E Job Fair On Oct. 12
mployers are invited to sign up for tables at the "Fall Into Work" Job Fair, which will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crown Expo Center. Over 100 employers are expected to attend.
The Cumberland County Department of Social Services Work First Program is presenting the event in partnership with several community agencies. The job fair is free and open to the public. For more information, call (910) 677- 2177. The Crown Expo Center is at 301 East Mountain Drive.
