A : It is. You'll note that Fox used the series at midseason for both of its first two runs, and that's the case again ... though at this writing, the network hadn't yet specified a date for Season 3 to start, but it probably will be in January if the pattern holds. Reportedly, Bacon's Ryan Hardy is in a good place when the new stories begin, but you likely can count on one hand how many minutes that will last. Jessica Stroup and Shawn Ashmore also will be back as Hardy's niece Max and comrade Mike Weston, but don't necessarily bank on what appeared to be their budding romance to come to fruition. Also, executive producer Kevin Williamson isn't present for daily developments, since his focus is now on CBS' "Stalker," but his stamp is still sure to be evident. Q : I heard that the producers of "Two and a Half Men" called Charlie Sheen and wanted him to come back. I was wondering if you've heard anything about this. — Valerie Chevalier, via e-mail A : It definitely wasn't a case of the producers calling, since they famously fired Sheen from the CBS sitcom, with both sides getting considerable media attention at the time. Sheen later intimated that there were talks about him returning to the show, which Warner Bros. Television — the studio behind it — quickly refuted. If it were going to happen, it would have to be fairly soon, since the series has just started its 12th and final season. Q : What happened to Michelle Borth, who played Catherine on "Hawaii Five-0"? — Jim Wilds, Fruita, Colo. A : It was announced before Season 4 of the CBS reboot ended that she wouldn't be back for the current round, at least on a regular basis. Executive producer Peter Lenkov has alluded that Borth might return to wrap up Catherine's story line with McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin), since it was left that the character was on an Afghanistan- related mission. For now, the actress has been working on an independent suspense movie titled "Teenage Cocktail." Q : Lloyd Owen of "Monarch of the Glen" and Clive Owen have remarkably similar, striking eyes.
