Attention: This newsletter is intended for Sigma Alpha Epsilon alumni and parents. If your son is still attending DePauw University, he will receive a copy at the chapter house. If he is no longer in school, please send us his permanent address to update our records. Thank you. FALL 2014 The Lion's Roar Sigma Alpha Epsilon Indiana Delta Housing LLC 1856 Sheridan Rd. Evanston, IL 60201-3837 Address Service Requested T he men of Indiana Delta cordially invite you to the after-Monon cookout to visit and meet the revitalized chapter. The past two semesters we experienced a great mentality and fraternity change for the chapter. Working together, alumni and the chapter have rewritten the Code of Conduct and the chapter bylaws, set new goals for philanthropy, placed new emphasis on academics and campus involvement, and worked to improve the maintenance of the chapter house both inside and out. This cookout would provide a great opportunity for both alumni and the current members to have a good conversation about the future of the chapter. We would be more than happy to get to know our alumni better, and this event will act as a guideline for our future goals. If you would like more information on this event, please contact Eminent Archon Scott Lockwood '16 at scottlockwood_2016@ depauw.edu. We hope to see you on November 15! Save the Date Cookout after the Monon Game November 15 Brothers take InItIatIve to Interact wIth PotentIal new MeMBers House Renovations Improve Recruitment Efforts A s a result of the major renovations and construction that took place over the past several months, this fall is off to a great start for Indiana Delta. Since the semester began, the house has experienced a great flow of traffic from old friends, DePauw administration, and new students. They all exclaim about its beauty and cleanliness. The physical aspects of the house are exponentially better. The new features and availability for brothers in single rooms that are bigger than triples at other institutions are big selling points for potential new members. We have taken up a daily initiative where five members and I will walk into the major hub of campus wearing letters and attempt to leave with a potential new member's cell phone number. This initiative promotes social interaction not only with freshmen but the upperclassmen as well. It displays a small group of brothers being social and proactive daily, and allows me to quantify the active recruitment that is performed by the brothers. We hold two brotherhood events per month, and at least two of these events will include inviting freshmen and unaffiliated upperclassmen to join us for events like hiking, a trip to a comedy club, or a Pacers' game. We participated in the IFC Greek Fair and have proven to be a strong force in the beginning of this year's DePauw University Greek Week. All of these efforts are aimed to exposing the chapter to new faces and getting us ready for the acceptance of new members.
