Quartzsite is re- ally hopping now with new and signature events planned in the next few months. The QIA is now open with a full sched- ules of events, and Roadrunners Gem & Mineral Club is ready for gemstone creations. The Senior Center, QIA & Desert Gardens are all holding Bingo games. Craft Fairs are happening and of course, the popular music jams at local RV Parks are just getting started. Check out the fun starting Wed. Nov. 5th with a new weekly Farmers Market opening at Desert Gardens 8am-noon. next weekend with the new Rotary Fun day, Sat. Nov. 8th. Gunny's RV Park & Military Museum will host their 3rd annual Veteran's Day BBQ event on Nov. 11th. Then the very next weekend is another new fundraiser for the Food Bank, Fall Festival and Com- munity Roundup on Sat. Nov. 15th. Be sure to attend the Celia's Rainbow Gardens famous fundraising Spaghetti Feed on Tues. Nov. 18th at QIA. Add some yard sales, new and return- ing vendors opening up all around town, and Quartzsite is fi lling up with "Happy Campers!" This edition was diffi cult to complete with so many new ads and all the exciting events happening. Plus Halloween Walk proved to be a new suc- cessful event for our youth and families. Response online express families really appreciated the work of all the volunteers. If you missed it, be sure to see the photos on the back page. Provided by Elmer London, Quartzsite and Desert Messenger While conducting a training exercise for search and rescue, the Army base sent us a rescue helicopter with a three man crew, to teach us to safely operate around the helicopter. Gene Ross, has placed sev- eral containers out in Rainbow Acres, where he resides, to collect aluminum cans and food donations. He will also be at the New Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 8 AM to 12 Noon collecting cans and any donated food items. All funds and food will be used to help the Quartzsite Food Bank dur- ing the next two months in helping low- income folks and the needy to have a blessed holiday season. Please save your cans and bring them to a drop off point and don't forget to buy an extra food item next time you are out shopping. It all helps and pro- motes "Community Unity". Many of us are blessed with far more then we need--it feels really great to be able to pass it forward. Thank you to those of you who are already contributing. The Quartzsite Museum is now on their winter schedule. Now open Wed thru Sun 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Free admission! They offer membership for $10.00 per person for the year. All are welcome to join.
