Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Virginia • Fall 2014 O ver the past 14 months, the Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi House Corporation has sent out three issues of The Constantine Sig. In each publication, we have highlighted the work of the House Corporation, featured Alumni from various decades, reported on the success and the triumphs of our undergraduate Brothers, and shared Alumni news with you. In the past 14 months, we have analyzed our housing situation and have searched for ways to upgrade, modernize, and adapt to the needs of a changing environment for fraternity life in Charlottesville. Last spring, Consul Michael Kreamer '15 and House Corporation Building Committee members Don Sours '58, Steve Herbert '68, Dick Dyas '68, and Michael Guthrie '75 participated in a presentation to the City of Charlottesville Board of Architectural Review regarding possible plans for construction at 608 Preston Place. This presentation was the first step in the Board's ongoing discussions about the safety and modernization of our Chapter House. This presentation was required before any future plans could even be discussed because our Chapter House is considered, by the City of Charlottesville, a historical landmark. The goal of the House Corporation is to provide the best learning, living, and leadership environment that we can for members of Psi. The Board continues to look at our Chapter House and strategize the best possible solutions for the future. We are still exploring the best solution for a modern, spacious facility that serves the needs of fraternity men at the University of Virginia and are excited to share information with you soon. With this in mind, it is important that you continue to connect and reach out to your Psi Brothers. Contact a Brother that you might have lost touch with over the past few years. Invite a Brother and his family over for dinner or to watch a football game. Send a Brother a message on social media letting him know you are thinking about him. If you know of a member not receiving The Constantine Sig, please e-mail Alumni Relations Chairman Bill Nixon '70 at nixonphd@comcast.net so we can add him to our mailing list. It is important, now more than ever, that we fulfill our promise as Brothers of Psi of Sigma Chi to support one another for all of our life. In Hoc, James "Jim" Moore '68 jamoore46@charter.net President Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi House Corporation House Corporation Meets with City of Charlottesville Brothers Encouraged to Get Involved Alumni Celebrate Order of Constantine Induction Brothers Reconnect to Recognize Bob Fair '50 T hank you to the many Alumni who joined the celebration of the induction of Brother Robert Fair '50 into the Order of Constantine on Friday, September 12, 2014.
