CHAPTER REORGANIZATION TO STRENGTHEN MEMBERSHIP From the start of the capital campaign, we have stressed the fact that this is about more than just "bricks and mortar." To position the chapter for long-term success, we must seek to strengthen our programming, chapter oversight, and alumni engagement. Working with Delta Upsilon International Fraternity (DUIF), we recently outlined a chapter reorganization plan to our existing undergraduate members. A reorganization committee led by the professional staff of the Fraternity will coordinate this activity including member interviews and a redevelopment process. We must insure that we have the highest quality membership in place once the new facility is completed next fall. Under Missouri Chapter and DUIF constitution and by-laws; however, our collective power to remove members is limited. The reorganization initiative will allow DUIF to conduct a full member review by late-November. At the end of that time period, members will be advised regarding their membership status. At that point, the remaining members will work with DUIF to put in place specific programming improvements so that we are optimally positioned to hit the ground running next fall. The chapter and alumni leadership see this as a difficult but necessary part of our transformation activities. After a decade of documented excellence, our chapter performance has slipped the past few years. At Mizzou and across the nation, performance standards for Greek organizations are escalating at a rapid pace. We believe that now is the perfect time to insure that the Missouri Chapter of Delta Upsilon is positioned for sustained success. Lastly, it is important to recognize that actions of the kind outlined here often get embellished. The chapter is moving forward and the construction/occupancy of the new chapter house has not been impacted in any way. As alumni and donors, we believe this is the best way to protect your investment in DU. These are indeed exciting times for Missouri DU. Thanks for all you do! Fraternally, E.
