Chrasta, 71, graduated from Chico State College with art and English de- grees, and later moved to San Francisco, where she obtained a peddler license and started out by show- ing her works on the street. Her work featured at the museum on Saturday spanned her prolific and self-sustaining career. "It's really been great for me," Chrasta said of her display of work, "because some of these paintings I painted 50 years ago, and just to see paintings I did way in the past along with the ones I'm doing now, it was just really enjoyable to me." Chrasta's works range in subject matter — from vineyards and rural creeks to the Golden Gate Bridge and the winding road of Lombard Street, among others. Chrasta, whose first job was prune and peach pick- ing on her family farm just outside Los Molinos, said, "It's best to paint things you either know or see," Chrasta said. "I grew up in the rural area here, and then when I got to the Bay Area, of course there's so much subject matter there." An officer saw Anthony Ginn walking on the 900 block of Johnson Street with the tod- dler around 1:47 p.m. according to a department press release. The officer attempted to contact Ginn, who had five outstanding warrants. As the officer began to speak with Ginn, Ginn picked up his daughter and ran away. Ginn ran through an alley through two back- yards onto Cedar Street where he reportedly stopped and discarded a loaded firearm near a tree. The officer followed Ginn, who eventually stopped on the 900 block of Cedar Street. Ginn put down his daughter at the point and complied with the officer's commands. At the request of the officer, a nearby resident took control of the girl until Ginn was taken into custody. The firearm, a .45-caliber pistol, was recov- ered. It was not registered to Ginn.
