DDD page 7 P amela Coldren Oberdiek '83 has felt a sense of pride as a Tri Delt since day one on campus. "At first it was about meeting people, making friends, and having a sense of belonging to something bigger than me. Over the years, I've been proud to be a Tri Delt for the lifelong friendships, the benefits provided for college students, the ongoing connections in the business world, and other opportunities provided by the national organization." Tri Delta helped prepare Pam for a successful career by giving her the opportunity to refine her leadership skills and develop a philanthropic mindset. "These skills have aided in my overall success. The contacts you make from being a Tri Delt, no matter what university you attended, are truly a lifelong benefit." Pam has worked at Hallmark Cards Inc. in Kansas City for 29 years, holding a variety of positions within the supply chain sector, marketing, and finance areas. A continued sense of pride fueled Pam's contribution to the Honoring Our Delta Xi Sisterhood: Building for Another 100 Years campaign. "I have found so much enjoyment and satisfaction in being able to give back to enable others to have the experiences that I was fortunate enough to have as a collegian. I'm hoping that by doing our part we are not only keeping Tri Delta strong but also keeping the Greek system strong. When I say that I am a Tri Delt, I want to continue to feel that sense of pride indicating it is one of the top chapters at Mizzou and across the country." Pam hopes her sisters will join her in celebrating Delta Xi with a contribution to the campaign. "Each of us can donate something—time, treasure, or talent. No gift is too small, and sometimes re-engaging is gift enough. Tri Delta reinforced and supported the values of integrity, responsibility, and philanthropy that are critical values to have throughout your lifetime. The relationships created provide support and contacts that help you in your personal life and career journey." Pam lives in Platte City, Missouri, with her husband, Randy, a FarmHouse alumnus. She enjoys volunteering with the Mizzou Alumni Association, both in Kansas City and Columbia, and watching all Mizzou sports. Contact Pam via e-mail at mizzoudeltatiger@aol.com. Pride in Delta Xi Motivates Pamela Coldren Oberdiek '83 to Donate Delta Xi Raises $92,514 For St. Jude, Welcomes 92 New Sisters A Successful Recruitment An astounding 1,978 potential new members came through recruitment here at the University of Missouri this year. To accommodate the large numbers, recruitment was extended an extra day. After two weeks of hard work, the women of Tri Delta proudly welcomed 92 new members into the chapter. We are so proud of the dedication of our members to recruit women who will live out the ideals of Tri Delta. Delta Xi Reaches a New Milestone for the Children of St. Jude On August 14, we were given the news that we have reached a new fundraising milestone for the kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital—$92,514! This total surpasses any of our fundraising amounts by nearly $30,000. We have worked very hard to accomplish this, with various events such as the first ever DHOP (Delta's House of Pancakes) and Sincerely Yours Letter Writing Campaign. Most recently, we hosted our annual Triple Play softball tournament, where 42 teams helped contribute to this year's fundraising efforts. The members of Delta Xi are so grateful for the generous donations that have brought us to this amazing accomplishment. Tri Delta Attends National Convention This year, Delta Xi's Risk Manager Madison Silvey '13 represented the chapter at Tri Delta National Convention in Indianapolis. Madison had the privilege of attending various workshops and meeting sisters from all over the nation. She also graciously accepted an exciting honor for the chapter, the National Housing Project of the Year award. Tri Delta Enjoys Another Mizzou Homecoming The women of Tri Delta had the privilege of being paired with the men of Alpha Epsilon Pi for the 2014 Homecoming celebration. This year's theme was magic show. The first Homecoming event was the annual blood drive on October 14-16, said to be the largest organized multi-day blood drive in the nation. On behalf of the Delta Xi Chapter of Delta Delta Delta, thank you, sisters, for your continued support of our members. We appreciate all that you have done for this chapter and its success. You are always welcome to our home. Delta love and all of mine, Kristy Wogtech '11, Chapter President klwvy7@mail.missouri.edu
