The women of the chapter were kind and inviting, welcoming Beth in to create her own unique experience. "There were so many opportunities for leadership and trying something you haven't done before. You're living with wonderful women who all have similar ideals and create a warm environment." Beth married in 1950 and graduated in 1952. She and her husband, Bob, moved to Lima, Ohio, where Beth taught kindergarten for several years before they started a family. A small Kappa alumnae group in Lima made it much easier to find a place in the city before moving back to Columbus after six years. Outside of her family life, Beth invested deeply in volunteer work throughout the years. Time with Junior League, supporting the Nationwide Children's Hospital, and Franklin Park Conservatory have given her great joy, as has her work with Beta Nu. "I've been involved in Kappa Kappa Gamma in lots of ways, but the biggest treat was being on the house board and serving as president for ten years. I adored that house and the generation of girls who came through during that time. I think that time brought me to be so enthusiastic about today's campaign." Being a central part of the decisions made regarding the chapter house, Beth saw first-hand the work that was done and the work that couldn't be done 15 to 20 years ago. "Now is our chance to really make the house a place that meets the needs of today's young women. Our home will have the space and features that are badly needed." "For alumnae, I think this campaign knits us closer together. There is a real and wonderful common purpose that everyone is working toward. I've talked to women from my time in the chapter and they've said that even though they haven't thought about Beta Nu in years, they loved the house and want to do what they can to support Kappa." Beth and Bob make their home in Columbus. They have two children, Matthew, a financial planner, and Ann, an artist and professor at The Ohio State University.
