Pies for Patriots

Turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls
and pumpkin pie are staples to a
traditional Thanksgiving Feast.This
year as you make your grocery list of
items to purchase for your holiday
meal, leave the pumpkin pie to Family
and Morale, Welfare
and Recreation.
Fort Bragg Family,
Morale, Welfare, and
Recreation welcomes
the opportunity to
give away free pies
to Soldiers and their
Families during the
2nd Annual Pies for
Patriots.
Harris Teeter
and their customers
wanted to say thank
you to the Fort Bragg
Soldiers and Families
for all they do and
all the sacrifices
they make. They did
just that with a very
generous, in-kind contribution of
pumpkin pies. With the holidays just
around the corner, the pies are sure to
be a hit.
On Friday, November 6, Fort
Bragg FMWR will begin distributing
the free pumpkin pies to at 9 a.m. at the
Fort Bragg Fairgrounds. Each Family
will receive a case of pies consisting
of ten frozen pies. Pies for Patriots is
open to Active Duty, National Guard
and Reserve Component Soldiers and
Airmen, Retirees and their Families 18
years and older, only
with a limit of one case
per Family.
The pies will be
given away on a first
come, first served
basis until all cases
have been distributed.
Everyone must remain
in their vehicles for
safety reasons. The
pies are frozen so it is
advisable they be put in
a freezer or cooked as
soon as possible.
