2A Daily News – Friday, August 26, 2011 Community people&events Car and bike show The Ninth Annual Cottonwood Hot Rod and Hogs Car and Bike Show will be Saturday, Sept. 10, in downtown Cottonwood. Registration will be 7 to 9 a.m. and the show is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event also includes everything from a walk- ing poker run, tri-tip barbecue and beer garden to live music, vendor booths and raffle prizes. The Cottonwood Fire Department will have its Pancake Breakfast from 7-10 a.m. and there will be the Napa Spark Plug Challenge. Proceeds from the day will go to benefit the Cottonwood Community Library, Cottonwood Fire Department and Cotton- wood Chamber of Commerce. Don't forget the Show & Shine will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday Sept. 9 at Rogers' Frosty / Cindy Lu's on Main Street in Cottonwood. Herger to visit Red Bluff The Tehama County Tea Party Patriots will host a Town Hall Meeting with Congressman Wally Herger at 6 p. m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 at the Elks Lodge at 355 Gilmore Road in Red Bluff. The public is welcome and encouraged to bring their question to Herger. In order to keep the Northern California con- stituents he represents informed about legislative action in Washington, D. C., and other federal mat- ters important to his Northern California district, Herger has created a new system that allows him to send periodic e-mail updates to individual sub- scribers. Jackson St.Vendors are now reserving spaces in the air conditioned auditorium. Original art, crafts, baked goods, candy and local produce will be offered. A snack bar will serve food. An added attraction this year will be a car show by the Rancho Tehama Car Club. Co-hosts for the day-long fair, which is free to the public, are the non-profit groups Blues for the Pool Committee and the Red Bluff Community Center Auxiliary. County Fair Directors Approve Plans Outlined For Holding Big Rodeo A rodeo is to be held in connection with the Tehama County Fair, October 3-8. This was the decision reached last night at a meeting of the fair directors in the Red Bluff Chamber of Commerce, the vote being unanimous in favor of the projected shows. — Aug. 26, 1921 A tournament for the Nor Cal Jr. Claybusters is set for Sept. 18. Pictured are the 2010 Nor Cal Jr. Claybusters. The Nor Cal Jr. Claybusters annual tournament is set for Sept. 18 at Clear Creek Sporting Club in Corning. The tournament, which is open to anyone, ages 10 to 100 years old, is one of the fundraisers that help support the group.
