Beef appetizers will be served at many of the participating stores. This recipe for Beef and Bacon Kabobs is from the Lassen Co. Cattle- Women Beef Appetizer Cookbook. 1/2 cup A1 Steak Sauce 1/4 cup sherry cooking wine 2 tablespoons honey 1 1/2 lbs sirloin beef cubes 1/2 lb bacon slices, halved onion wedges green or red pepper squares whole mushroom caps Blend steak sauce, sherry and honey. In nonmetal dish, pour 3/4 marinade over steak cubes. Cover, chill 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Drain beef;discard marinade. Wrap half bacon slice around each steak cube. On 4 skewers, thread steak, onion wedges, pepper squares, and mush- room caps. Grill or broil 4 inches from heat source, for 8 to 10 minutes or until desired doneness, turning occasionally and brushing with reserved marinade. Serve garnished as desired. Yield: 4 servings or use toothpicks for appetiz- ers.
