Dalton was 4 of 11 for 29 yards after one quarter, and finished 8 of 19 for 86 yards. The Bengals are 0- 2. Bills 10, Broncos 24 DENVER (AP) — Brady Quinn leapfrogged Tim Tebow, at least for one night. Kyle Orton, who has rendered the quarterback drama in Denver a ques- tion of who will be his backup, led the Broncos on two touchdown drives in a 24-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday night. Quinn had a mostly solid perfor- mance, throwing a touchdown pass but also an interception, and Tebow had a sack and a big scramble in cleanup duty. The game was marred by an injury to Bills running back Johnny White, who was strapped to a body board and carted off the field after his head was driven into the grass on a clean tackle by linebacker Mario Haggan in the third quarter. White moved his left hand as he was taken up the tunnel, then was taken via ambulance to a hos- pital. There was no immediate word on his condition. Haggan later went to the locker room with an injured right shoulder and didn't return. After Orton completed 10 of 13 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown, Quinn came in and had an up-and- down performance with the second- stringers, completing 10 of 16 passes for 130 yards, one TD and one inter- (Niemann 8-4), 4:10 p.m. Boston (Bedard 4-8) at Texas (C.Wilson 12-5), 5:05 p.m. Baltimore (Britton 6-9) at Minnesota (Pavano 6-9), 5:10 p.m. Tuesday's Games Seattle at Cleveland, 10:05 a.m., 1st game Oakland at N.Y.Yankees, 4:05 p.m. Seattle at Cleveland, 4:05 p.m., 2nd game Kansas City at Toronto, 4:07 p.m. Detroit at Tampa Bay, 4:10 p.m. Boston at Texas, 5:05 p.m. Baltimore at Minnesota, 5:10 p.m. Chicago White Sox at L.A. Tebow was 1 for 2 for 10 yards with a sack. He ran once for 7 yards. Orton's sharpness was in stark con- trast to his 2-for-6 performance that led to a field goal in the starters' only series last week in an opening lass at Dallas. Buffalo is 0-2. Vikings 20, Seahawks 7 SEATTLE (AP) — Marcus Sherels intercepted a deflected pass and returned it 64 yards for a touchdown, Donovan McNabb led a long drive that ended in the first of Ryan Longwell's two field goals for Minnesota. Tristan Davis added a 35-yard TD run with 2:09 left for Minnesota's first offensive touchdown of the preseason. McNabb led a 13-play drive that start- ed at the 1 and ended in Longwell's 36- yard field goal. Longwell added a 34- yarder. McNabb was 6 of 8 for 81 yards. Playing against his former team, Seat- tle's Tarvaris Jackson was running for safety most of the night and struggled. He completed 11 of 21 passes for 75 yards and one interception that deflect- ed off receiver Golden Tate's hands and right to Sherels. Texans 27, Saints 14 HOUSTON (AP) — Arian Foster ran for two touchdowns and Ben Tate rushed for 95 yards and another score in the first half in Houston's victory over New Orleans. Foster, the NFL's leading rusher in 2010, returned after sitting out Hous- ton's victory in the preseason opener Monday night against the New York Jets because of a sore hamstring. Tate, a second-round pick in 2010, was seeing his first game action since breaking his ankle in the first preseason game last year. He had a 4-yard TD run and gained 43 yards on another run in the second quarter. Moscosco loses tough pitcher's duel to Perez, Jays OAKLAND (AP) — Guillermo Moscoso had noth- ing to show for the best outing yet of his young career. That's only because home run leader Jose Bautista got a hold of one. It wasn't even a bad pitch. Moscoso allowed three hits over a career-high eight innings, including Bautista's majors-best 36th home run, but the Oakland Athletics couldn't figure out Toronto's Luis Perez and Casey Janssen and were one- hit in a 1-0 loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday. ''Sometimes you're going to have great days like this and you're going to get the loss,'' said Moscoso, who struck out seven and walked one. ''That was today.'' Perez worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth and pitched brilliantly in his first start at this level. Bautista broke up a scoreless game with a deep drive into the left-field bleachers on the 10th pitch he saw from Moscoso (6-7) leading off the seventh. Perez (3-2) didn't allow an A's runner until Cliff Pennington drew a five-pitch walk to start the sixth. Jemile Weeks later singled up the middle to load the bases, but Perez induced an inning-ending double play by Coco Crisp with his final pitch. ''When you have well-pitched games like that it looks like the offense is down and dragging a little bit,'' A's manager Bob Melvin said. ''But both pitchers were terrific. One pitch ended up deciding the game. ... When you get a performance like that from your start- ing pitcher, you'd like to reward him.'' Perez had made 29 relief appearances this season and was a starter throughout his minor league career. The 26-year-old left-hander — Oakland's ninth opposing lefty starter in 14 games — struck out four and walked two while throwing 80 pitches in six innings. He baffled Oakland's hitters with a fastball that moved and also mixed in his changeup. Pretty good for a guy who hadn't gone more than four innings since May 15 while in Triple-A. For his career, he had only eight appearances of two or more innings in the big leagues. Perez said he didn't think about being perfect or his no-hit bid but rather to keep attacking hitters. ''I hadn't started a game and I didn't know how far I was going to go,'' Perez said. ''Mentally I stayed strong. Each inning I pitched better and better. I kept attacking hitters and throwing strikes.'' Miami 2 0 0 1.000 New England2 0 0 1.000 N.Y. LOUIS (AP) — Sam Bradford threw an 83-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Gibson on St. Louis' first play, and Josh Brown kicked a 42-yard field goal as time expired to give the Rams the victory. Steven Jackson was limited to 10 yards on six carries in his preseason debut for the Rams (2-0), and Sam Bradford had no other big plays in the first half and got banged around a bit. Tennessee starter Matt Hasselbeck was sharp, going 7 for 9 for 74 yards. Hasselbeck was shaken up on his final play when Brady Poppinga rolled into his legs after a pass, but after walking off didn't need treatment on the side- line. Rookie Jamie Harper had 83 yards on 11 carries in the first half for Tennessee (1-1). The highlight was a 46-yarder on a cutback run, and he scored for the second straight week. 49ers 17, Raiders 3 SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Alex Smith threw for 126 yards and an inter- ception in San Francisco coach Jim Harbaugh's home debut, getting show- ered with a mix of boos and cheers. Smith was 8 for 13 and came up empty in the end zone again. He had a pass picked off by defensive end Matt Shaugnessy in the second quarter and could only lead the 49ers (1-1) to a field goal in one half of play. The 2005 No. 1 overall pick at least left healthy. Oakland starting quarter- back Jason Campbell didn't return after taking a couple of blows on a scramble play in the second quarter. San Francisco loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth but Schierholtz flew out to center field to keep the score tied. The Giants left seven runners stranded in the seventh, eighth and ninth. Aaron Rowand led off the ninth with a single. He took off for second when a pickoff throw got past first baseman Carlos Lee. The ball bounced perfectly off the fence back to second baseman Jose Altuve, who threw out Rowand at sec- ond. ''When you're in one of these streaks, what can go wrong does go wrong,'' Bochy said. ''They got a break there and throw the guy out at second. There's nobody out and a man on first, yeah, it's a tough break.'' Sosa walked and Jose Altuve had an RBI single to bring on Mota, who walked Jason Bourgeois and J.D. Martinez followed with a two-run single to right field for a 4-3 lead. Mike Fontenot's sacri- fice fly tied it in the fourth inning. ''We survived it is the best way to put it,'' Bochy said. ''We're not too far back. We're fortunate.'' General manager Ed Wade said Lyles would return with the September call ups. Raiders'Campbell expected to practice today ALAMEDA, (AP) — Oakland coach Hue Jackson got at least one bit of good news in the wake of the Raiders loss to the cross-bay rival San Francisco 49ers. Quarterback Jason Campbell is expected to be back at practice on Monday, two days after leaving the preseason game with a possible con- cussion. Campbell took a knee to the head on a scramble play late in the second quarter and did not return to the game. He took concussion tests after the 17-3 loss Saturday night and Jackson said he thought his quarter- back would return to practice on Monday. ''It's a huge relief,'' Jackson said. ''Anytime a guy goes out and needs to be checked, you want to make sure that the next day that every- thing is going to be OK. He's going to be well.'' The news was not as good for tight end Kevin Boss, who has a sprained left knee after being hit by a helmet and will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. There weren't a lot of positives to take from the second exhibition game for the Raiders. The offense failed to score a touchdown and the defense got run over all night and couldn't get off the field. The Raiders were outgained 402- 214 in the game and allowed 239 yards rushing. While much of the damage came against reserves, the first-team defense also struggled to stop the Niners as Oakland is having trouble building the bully that Jack- son has talked about ever since get- ting the head coaching job seven months ago. ''You don't build a bully overnight,'' he said. ''You don't build a bully in two days or two pre- 'I know it sounds like a broken record but trust me we're going to get this fixed' — Raiders' Coach Hue Jackson season games. Don't get me wrong, these preseason games are very important and they all matter. But I know come September 12th, they truly matter and I think our team understands that we need to make some strides and we need to get bet- ter and we need to keep working. We're a work in progress.'' While the offense has struggled at times this preseason with just one touchdown in two games, part of that can be attributed to a series of injuries to key players. Star running back Darren McFadden hasn't played yet this preseason because of a broken orbital bone in his face, receivers Jacoby Ford, Louis Murphy and Chaz Schilens have all been side- lined and now Campbell and Boss left the most recent game early. Campbell played two-plus series against the Niners, going 5 for 7 for 74 yards with two sacks. He went three-and-out on his first posses- sion, couldn't score after getting first-and-goal from the 2 on the sec- ond drive and then got hurt with the Raiders moving on the third posses- sion. ''There's a lot of stuff that we're not even doing right now,'' Camp- bell said after the game. ''You got to understand that we have a lot of key guys out right now — Darren and three of our top receivers. It's not the same guys that are all going to be out there in one unit so there's a lot of things that we do that we're not doing right now in the game.'' The defense has been healthier with 10 of the 11 starters on Satur- day night expected to start when the regular season opens Sept. 12 in Denver. That's what made the porous run defense so glaring. Jackson said he might stage a few live tackling ses- sions in practice this week to help shore up that unit. ''When the players see the tape they'll understand exactly what it is that we need to do,'' he said. ''I know it sounds like a broken record but trust me we're going to get this fixed.'' Finding positives from the game was not easy. Defensive end Matt Shaughnessy had an interception when he dropped into coverage on a pass play in the second quarter, Dar- rius Heyward-Bey made two nice catches and Derek Hagan caught three balls for 32 yards. The biggest plus once again came from rookie receiver Denarius Moore, who had two catches for 28 yards and returned a kickoff 48 yards. The fifth-round pick from Tennessee has been a star in training camp and that has carried over so far in two exhibition games. ''He's a bright spot,'' Jackson said. ''He's done some really good things. The guy, when we throw it to him, he catches it. When he returns it, he's a threat. I think he's a very solid and good football player. Again, he's got to be consistent and keep doing it week in and week out. So far, so good.''
