NEWS Big Red Island Beta Theta Pi at Oklahoma State University / Fall 2014 W ith the ever-increasing cost of a college education, it is becoming more difficult for our children to attend college. In 2010, Oklahoma State University announced a campaign to raise $1 billion and committed $500 million to enhance scholarships. T. Boone Pickens challenged each of us by creating the Pickens Legacy Scholarship Match and committed $100 million as a challenge grant. This challenge has the ability to change the future by reducing the cost of a college education for our future generations. OSU Betas accepted T. Boone's challenge, and to date we have raised $95,675 for active and future Betas at OSU. Because of the generosity of alumni and friends, the Beta Theta Pi Gamma Lambda Chapter Scholarship Fund will award $7,348 in scholarships to our members this fall. The Beta Scholarship Fund at OSU can make a difference in families' lives by making the escalating cost of college more affordable. A huge thank-you goes to all those who contributed. Your gifts will help ensure the success of Gamma Lambda Beta for generations to come. If you would like to make a donation to the Beta Theta Pi Gamma Lambda Chapter Scholarship Fund, donations can be made payable to the Beta Theta Pi Gamma Lambda Chapter Scholarship Fund and mailed to OSU Foundation, 400 S.
