5 Alpha Chi Omega I n January, State Representative Holli Fruit Sullivan '93 (R-Evansville) was sworn in by Indiana Supreme Court Justice Mark Massa to serve House District 78. She will fulfill the remaining term of former State Rep. Suzanne Crouch, who resigned from her seat to serve as the new Indiana auditor of state. Rep. Sullivan was joined at the ceremony by her husband, Chad, their three children, Dalton, Savannah, and Sawyer, and her parents, Homer and Ann Fruit. "The opportunity to serve our community at the Statehouse is quite an honor," said Rep. Sullivan. "Getting sworn in on the first day of session is an exciting experience I can honestly say I will never forget. The next few months will be an exciting challenge, and I look forward to collaborating with and learning from my fellow legislators in order to best represent House District 78 on the issues that matter most. Suzanne Crouch did an amazing job representing our district and set a great example for me to follow." Rep. Sullivan graduated from the University of Missouri and is an industrial engineer and owner of Onward Consulting LLC. She is a graduate of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service series and a board member of Minority/Women's Business Enterprises. Before starting her own business, Rep. Alpha Nu Buzzing This Fall F ueled by last spring's momentum, Alpha Nu Chapter anticipates a banner semester! We finished fifth out of 15 PHA sororities with an overall G.P.A. of 3.315 in May and placed third overall in Greek Week with the men of Delta Tau Delta and FarmHouse. We are looking forward to being paired with Phi Gamma Delta for Homecoming and are excited about our theme, A Day at the Races. The women of Alpha Nu have been selling sponsorships for our revamped philanthropy event in October, which is domestic violence awareness month. This year we are hosting a new event called Desserts and Pies with Alpha Chis to benefit True North women's shelter in Columbia. We are hoping this new twist will attract even more participants than our dodge ball tournament and raise more money. One of our favorite traditions of the fall semester is football season. The house is always buzzing on game day and you won't see a single person not wearing black and gold. We love game days because they provide a chance for us to show off our beautiful house to alumnae and parents. The girls were ecstatic to move into the house after seeing the new bathrooms, and now that the artwork and accessories are in place, the house feels like a complete home. Our goals this semester are to be among the top three in grades and to bring home a first place trophy from Homecoming. We expect big things from our new philanthropy and amazing new member class. Best wishes to you all as the weather begins to get cooler and the leaves change. As always, Alpha Nu would love to share our Alpha Chi experience with you, and we encourage you to stop by the chapter house whenever you get a chance. We love your visits.
